Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.
I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.
"Lego Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles - Menace of the Sith" is an English language animated short film from 3 years ago and like all the other Lego Star Wars (short) films, this one runs for slightly over 20 minutes. Writer is Michael Price and director is Michael Hegner and this duo worked together on several other of these fan films. I personally did not enjoy the watch here too much. For my taste, it tried to be too relevant at times taking itself too seriously and the comedy is really something that can only entertain the most die-hard Star Wars fans. I am not one of these and people who aren't (just like myself) can very well skip this one. The various characters are probably still the highlight and that includes Yoda of course. I liked his animated looks. But this is not enough to make up for the letdowns in this one. Do not watch.
