Not a bad at all. I went expecting a good comedy/mystery and that is what I got. Jeff Garlin is very funny in this movie. Worth a watch.

Jeff Garlin is a great actor; he is funny and sensitive and smart. The movie was quirky but fun; enjoyed all of the characters.

'HANDSOME: A NETFLIX MYSTERY MOVIE': Three Stars (Out of Five)A Netflix comedy feature about an LA homicide detective, named Gene Handsome, who's great at solving crimes but still can't make sense of his own personal relationships Jeff Garlin plays the title role in the film, and he also directed and co-wrote it (with Andrea Seigel). The movie costars Natasha Lyonne, Christine Woods, Amy Sedaris and Steven Weber. It was released by Netflix through their streaming site. I found it to be mildly amusing and funny.Gene Handsome (Garlin) is a homicide detective in Los Angeles, who works with his partner, Fleur Scozzari (Lyonne), to solve crimes. The latest mystery, that the duo are trying to solve, involves the murder of a local babysitter in Gene's neighborhood. Gene is extremely smart, and clever, at solving crimes, but he's horrible with personal relationships. So as he impressively works to solve this latest gruesome murder, he still can't seem to make things work with women. The movie feels much more like a TV feature, than a theatrical film, which is not the case with a lot of Netflix original movies (they're usually theatrical quality in my opinion). It also feels like the beginnings of (the hopes for) a TV series. That's not to say it isn't entertaining though; I was amused consistently throughout it. I think Garlin is really funny, and he's definitely good in this role. So I still enjoyed watching it, but definitely more on a TV show quality level.

Jeff's character was very lovable and relatable. This flick was an easy watch, with a fun mystery story line! It was a lower toned comedy and a good watch for a Friday night at home. I enjoyed the overall set design and coloring of the film. All the characters were true to their role and were all very believable with a subtle hint of comedy. I also love dogs so the Dane was a major plus!
