Scary or Die (2012)

Excellent adaptation.

Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.

A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.

It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.

I love horror anthologies, so maybe im biased. i try to watch every anthology that comes out and i usually enjoy them. However,, this was truly an entertaining film. I'm really surprised at the poor reviews and those who accused the staff of writing reviews. If you like tales from the darkside, these stories are very similar. The acting, stories, and spfx are all on the same par as that show. The stories are pg 13 level scary and fun to watch. I sometimes wonder what people expect from a low budget horror movie and this movie by FAR out does most indi horror out there just because it's watchable! If I had a complaint, it would be that the pace in some of the stories is a bit slow. I really think you can't review a low budget film the same way you would, say, Ironman. That said this movie is a strong 7 and would be an 8 if the pacing was a bit faster! Happy viewing!

The Director Prolly Found The Mask, Made it The Cover then Smoked Large Amounts Of Angel Dust. This Isn't Horror, This Isn't Comedy, This Is Cruel And Unusual Torture. Pretty Sure They Show This Movie To Men In Prison When They Get Put in The Hole. I've Never Seen Anything this Bad, Director Had A Mid Life Crisis.I Have No clue What Happened Or Why, And Never Cared.. only Thing That Kept The Movie Running Was Sheer Curiosity... I Thought I Was being Punked.

Black humor, ironic twists and surprises are found in this horror. First story. A rebel couple with their friend who scare those around them and kill other peoples who are from another nation than their's, are witness of something only in zombie movies we met when they go to the desert to shoot and bury two of the victims. The second story. A widower is haunted by the ghost of his wife and one evening sitting on a bench when he sees a group of girls and one of them resembles his wife. This is kidnapped and forcibly plugged into the car and he try to help her but fails. Taejung manages to put his phone in the fuel tank and using the laptop follows the car and he is led to the place where the young woman is about to be murdered but in the last-minute he saves her managing to stop the attacker. She wants to thank him and says she'll give a little party next week and you really need to come too. He has some small doubts but finally made an appearance at her residence. Now the roles were reversed for the young who seem helpless is something else than he could have imagined and now Taejung is the one who needs help. Third story. A killer carry in the trunk his recent victim gets some bangs which normally should not hear them because the body is cut into several pieces. Lose control of the car for a few seconds and a cop stops him. He hears sound from behind and asks man to open the trunk. The killer panics and takes the gun from the glove box, but the cop comes back and says he is free to leave. It's surprised and he stops the car a few hundred meters away and finds that in the trunk the victim is no longer there and instead founds a note. Now the killer has the same fate. Fourth story. This is the longest and is about a young man who is bitten by a clown and with time changes begin to occur. His clothes remain small shoes are no longer good and slowly begins to turn into a bad clown. He leaves home for fear that his girlfriend will see him along with his mother and son. Now sleeps like a bum under a bridge and his child has a dream that becomes reality. So one night it taken somewhere for a little picnic but after the clown is unmasked gives notice that it is not his father but he appears and saves him. Fifth story. The shortest is about a man who cheated on his girlfriend, and then kill her. She returns from the dead to avenge him and his infidelity. Many would classify this film as a weak but let's give him a chance. What I liked about it is that had that dose of curiosity who makes you wonder what will happen next and makes you eager to find out and all in a very short story.

This film is more than an homage to the classic monster films we know and love. It combines modern visions with a deep thinking. "The Crossing" takes on zombies and immigration with Bill Oberst Jr. leading the charge, "Taejung's Lament" twists together Asian ghosts and vampires, "Re-Membered" gives us a new look at Tell Tale Heart and Frankenstein, Corbin Bleu proves he isn't that kid from High School Musical anymore when he gets "Clowned" in this all heart and a lot of bite were-clown story - Emanuel cleverly toys with our fear of clowns mixed with cannibalism and werewolves, while a voodoo grandparent's blessing of true love may in fact be a curse. ~ Creepercast
