Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.

People from around the world have seen this now and so many people must be disgusted that this is based on a real guy who decided to kill his parents for his own gain. I almost wasn't going to review it myself due to the slime factor, but figured he'd hate it if I did and I'm free due to not choosing to get rid of people who love me- so here I am. This movie wasn't totally based on his story because he was no romeo in the romantic sense of the word. More a trying to sweet talk people and pull the wool over their eyes kind of guy. He is so disconnected from reality that you can see it in his eyes. He looks like a kid who has been living on computer games and is unable to look people in the eyes with any clarity at all while asking 'why would I do that?" in response to most questions about the crime. Now that is no Romeo. I bet he tried though and wasn't successful like the smooth talking overly connected guy in the movie who women seemed to fall for so easily. As long as viewers do a little research for themselves and take the movie with a grain of salt if you get to see it, it's OK and brings awareness to these types of things that exist in our society thinking they're smarter than us. I wonder why he tried to get this movie cancelled from syndication for being fake when his whole life was fake so he shouldn't have had a problem with this. I saw it in 2013 with friends from overseas who all thought the real guy had nothing on the actor in the looks department either. So I guess it wasn't real after all in more ways than one.

This was a pretty good Lifetime movie. Well acted by Eric McCormack & Matt Barr with a gripping story that kept me guessing until the very end. Did he do it? The final verdict surprised the hell out of me, not what I was expecting.Based on real events this follows a college student from the quiet town of Delmar New York who was accused of murdering his fathering and badly disfiguring his mother in a vicious attack with an axe. 21-year-old Chris Porco maintains that he's innocent throughout with many of his friends and girlfriends backing him. Eric McCormack plays Detective Sullivan, on a mission to prove his guilt. 05.13

This is a riveting film based on true events. A son is accused of murder/attempted murder of his parents and the movie had me engrossed from start to finish. Some of those close to the actual events claim the movie is a very poor depiction, but so far my research has not confirmed that as from what I learn the film is fairly true to what happened. I say that subject to further research and seeing a documentary which apparently gives a better perspective on events. In this movie the players are highly convincing especially the lead actor. The court room scenes are excellent and I am surprised there was not an acquittal as the lack of blood/forensic evidence was crucial and surely ought to have created reasonable doubt.8/10

I live in the town where this happened, and while I understand that this is not meant to be a documentary, they portrayed him and the town very poorly. He was not a "Romeo" in any sense of the word, and they added story lines that did not make sense. But they did stay very true to the crime. The actual characters including Christopher Porco were very interesting, so I am disappointed that they did not stick closer to the truth. He is truly a sociopath, and I did not get a sense of that through the movie. An additional show that was shown following the meeting showing the true facts was very good. I was also not very impressed with the acting. I have always like Eric McCormick so I was disappointed in his performance.
