There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.

The film may be flawed, but its message is not.

Revisiting this classic after so many years, strange to say but it is a little dated. But still, it holds up. Definitely one of better Star Wars parody out there. I believe this was made back during the height of Family Guy's run. I saw an episode of Family Guy a few weeks ago and it is not as funny as it used to be when comparing it to a decade ago. Anyway, this is worth checking out if you are a Star Wars fan. I thought this was a solo, stand alone film but appertaining this is officially part of the TV show series. Good to know. It is always nice having useless information like that flouting around in my head. Needless to say this generation is doomed. And this end my review.

i thought this was a very funny and clever parody of the first Star Wars film.it's basically the characters from Family guy portraying the characters from the film.there are some inspired choices in which characters portray who.some of the lines are very funny.everything is very fast paced.it stays pretty true to the original film, while adding it's own unique spin.the DVD running time is listed as 48 minutes(it's actually a bit longer than that)so it's obviously condensed.anyway,i laughed a lot.as an aside,i noticed this particular episode seems toned down in term of pushing the envelope,at least compared to other episodes of Family Guy i have seen.maybe it's just my imagination, but,it doesn't seem as sick and twisted or perverse, though there is still some of that element.and yet it's still riotously funny.th version i watched is from Laugh it up Fuzzball:The Family Guy Trilogy collection which contains all three parodies of the first three original Star Wars films.for me Family Guy:Blue Harvest is an 8/10

Being a fan of both Star Wars and Family Guy, I was absolutely excited once I heard of "Blue Harvest" being produced. I immediately knew this episode was going to ROCK! Plus, I also thought it was VERY cool of Lucasfilm to gave their blessing to produce this hour-long episode. After watching this episode repeatedly, I can honestly say without a doubt that it was one of the best Family Guy episodes EVER. Filled with tons of Star Wars-related gags and the usual hilarious absurdity, it was definitely the hardest I'd ever laughed watching Family Guy.If you're a fan of Family Guy or Star Wars (or both like me), you definitely need to watch this episode.

This was nothing short of TV gold.Every once in awhile I see something on television that is pure magic from start to finish, and this particular show was one of them...This episode was an homage to the film, and even though they "Family-Guy'ed" it with their edgy humour, it was still a brilliant piece of work, with some of the scenes being almost shot-for-shot from the movie. It is obvious that Seth MacFarlane and the rest of the creators are die-hard Star Wars fans. And it was neat to see they went with the original version, not the George Lucas-ized, Greedo-shoots-first version.
