Good movie but grossly overrated

Good films always raise compelling questions, whether the format is fiction or documentary fact.

A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.

It’s sentimental, ridiculously long and only occasionally funny

In a post-apocalyptic gray world, a woman, Bella, and her two partners, Clarke and Anthony, drive to a warehouse to seek medical supplies for a common friend. They are scared with the surveillance system but find the necessary supply. Out of the blue, they are attacked by a powerful mechanical dog that kills Anthony and Bella has to flee. Clarke drives a van and Bella drives the car, and both are hunted down by the dog. Will they survive?"Metalhead" is so far the weakest episode of "Black Mirror". The plot has no explanation and the viewer only acknowledge that the world is destroyed without any green and controlled by "dogs". Are these alien machines? What happened to the population? Is there a safe place in the world? Why the trio risked their life knowing that there are invincible dogs? My vote is six.Title (Brazil): "Metalhead"

I love this episode, it's one of my favourites ever since Netflix started producing Black Mirror, but a lot of other people have said that. I'm just curious, has no one else noticed how this episode was based on Eraserhead by David Lynch? There are so many similarities, even in the title, how come that I did not see anyone talking about how similar they are?

So first thing first - what is there to think about. Black Mirror used to be build on the conrovercial nature of technology, and whether or not it is going too far in places. What does this episode present? Killer Robots are bad. What if the robots created for a useful purpose went out of control and took their directive to the extreme and started to... you know this story was done so many times and so much better. That's the thing, when spoofing something, try to be better than the thing you're spoofing. Why are your robots - cold, metal machines, that are supposed to be terryingly logical and soulless - behave like animals or monsters? Why kicking this thing is suddenly an effective strategy, when it has a gun? Why is it so dumb in a human, not machine way? Because it's a monster for a horror movie, not a robot. We're not given any context which means this thing is more open to enterpretation - but also means that tehre is no real grander story. A woman who's bad at post-apocalypsis is running from a stupid killer robot. That's it. Nothing more. Filler.

Usually when i watch black mirror im drown in following the story line and i adore everything about it. With this one? i almost fell asleep ended up on my phone every 5 mins checking the time when its gonna finish. Didnt like the style didnt like the editing didnt like the script didnt like the plot. This is all my personal opinion if somebody likes it good for you but in my opinion it was one of - if not - the worst episode so far. Pretty much all of the Black mirror episodes are set in the future with all the fancy technology this one is probably supposed to be in the future too so why the black and white? This is not a play with shadows kinda film from germans new wave or a film shot at the start ish of the 20th century when they couldnt film it in colour. it just looks like they got lazy so made it black and white. They couldve played with lightning and colours make it faded away creepy dark instead and itd be so much more effective i think. I didnt like the script cause it was simply pointless. For good script the main character has to have a point be driven by something whether its money or saving someones life or ordering a cheesburger in mc donalds if you can make it interesting. But it has to be interesting. There has to be at least few plot twists or some important action or whatever . Im finishing my bachelor degree in film now and even when we write 10min short film you have to have at least 3 breath taking scenes that would hold the audience it back in the chair and wanting more and then the big big plot twist at the end. My scripts for 10 minute short films have more going on there than this 40 min story. You also dont get attached with the character. i didnt anyway. With most of the characters in this show or ny other one you try to be in the characters shoes you feel all their emotions and so on with this one theres nothing... Maybe if it was a short film itd be ok still wouldnt like it or re watch it but id definitely be easier to watch than this 40 minute running around from a mechanical dog with guys and knives bullshit.... (just want to point it out there im not hating on the series i absolutely love black mirror the episode before that was brilliant and pretty much all of them are worth watching just didnt really like this episode)
