When a movie has you begging for it to end not even half way through it's pure crap. We've all seen this movie and this characters millions of times, nothing new in it. Don't waste your time.

I wanted to like it more than I actually did... But much of the humor totally escaped me and I walked out only mildly impressed.

(Credit IMDb) Laughter, love and just a hint of magic make for 'The Perfect Holiday', a fun-filled comedy starring Morris Chestnut, Gabrielle Union, Charlie Murphy, Katt Williams, Faizon Love, Terrence Howard and Queen Latifah. All Nancy Taylor (Union) wants for Christmas is to meet a nice man. So when her little girl shares her smitten wish with a Mall Santa, Benjamin Armstrong(Chestnut), he does his best o make her dreams come true in this delightful family treat for the whole family to enjoyI've become pickier with my movie choices over the years, but I still hate being a picky critic. I've vowed to give any movie a chance to provide enjoyment for me, but Perfect Holiday just didn't cut it. The thought is certainly nice, and it's admirable, but it tried to stick it down my throat once too often, with too many unbelievable situations. The kids are annoying, especially the big brother, and I had a lot of trouble identifying myself with the characters. The ending is a bit too good to be true, but if you're a believer in this stuff, you may get a kick out of it.Performances. Morris Chestnut is OK, probably the best character here. He was somewhat likable, and seemed like an ordinary fellow. The Problem is he isn't given much depth to speak of. Gabrielle Union is certainly great to look at, and does fine with what she is given. It's just I found her character to be much too wishy-washy. Faizon Love is the comic relief, nothing more. He did OK at that. Charles Q. Murphy is annoying as Jizzy, and over did it completely. Katt Williams plays it oddly straight most of the time. While Terrance Howard and Queen Latifah have some cameo spots.Bottom line. If you want to sit down and watch an enjoyable Christmas themed movie, look elsewhere. I personally feel it will bore your kids and yourself in the process.3 ½ /10

The movie was a great movie. Was it predictable? Yes all family movies are. It's wasn't a mystery or action flick. But it was very good. Morris Chestnut was good. There was just enough comic relief to make some parts funny. I liked the way they really focused on the older son's dislike of the "new guy" in his mother's life. The supporting cast members were very good. Lots of stars with little roles that made me laugh. They showed a lot of depth in the characters. Queen Latifah, Katt Williams, among others were great! If you are looking for a nice wholesome feel good movie. This is the one for you! Not Oscar worthy but definitely a good DVD Christmas movie.

I can witness why all the bad hovering reviews are floating around this film and I can see why everyone is so confused about that. This movie was OK could've been better but a little bit more peachier, Santa dies, the boy realizes that his mom won't be capable to get a new husband, and lots of crying. Could've gone better but in my opinion, it was alright. A young girl wants to get a new husband and suddenly, she and her brother realizes that they won't get the husband so he starts crying and Santa helps him rely on his crying to get through disappointing situations. It tells how he might get a new husband for them or not. This is an uplifting Christmas Spirit and very original but it's not really my fav. Could've been better...

Queen Latifah vanity project (she produced) story of a single mom with three kids looking to find a life beyond her kids and ends up with a guy playing Santa.Manufactured "feel good" flick with Latifah in a Greek chorus/on screen narrator role. Its not bad as such but awfully artificial in a way that is more ideal than real. take for example the opening bit of the guy chasing the money down the street, its a cutesy idea that is too artificial to illicit any reaction other than "Oh Please". Actually that kind of sums up the whole movie "oh please". This is holiday "goodness" so plastic as to squeeze all of the life out of it.If you must see this wait for it to show up on cable where you won't have to pay ten bucks a head for something you can't get away from by changing the channel
