Powerful
Highly Overrated But Still Good
Good story, Not enough for a whole film
Good movie but grossly overrated
Made on a shoestring budget in a small British town this release is truly amazing given the context of what it had to work with. Granted there's no Oscar worthy performances and it's arguably a little on the 'mindless' side of films there's fantastically tense moments and a fairly interesting story, recommend a watch
I enjoyed this film on initial release, a true grit of a film about revenge and possible redemption. I watched again recently and enjoyed so much felt need to write. It's not a comedy as such, but has such light moments "this is the recycling", "they spit roasted me on video", Citroën 2cv meets rap, that contrast with the darkness. It's an uncomfortable view but brilliant film to watch. The entire cast give brilliant performances, and to shot with a great lens on British life on the estates (I'm from one myself). But paddy Considine and Toby Kebbel are standout.I think it's pretty much a perfect film in my eyes. I'll never get bored of watching this film, despite the darkness. It's labelled as a slasher on some sites, but it's so much more...
Budget and relatively short, it still manages to enthrall you as you want to see the plot unfold. We all know of a generic dull town in Britain quite like this. That and the laddish characters give it a certain setting that makes it even more realistic to me.Puts most hollywood films with million dollar budgets to shame.
Oh my word. Firstly I am stunned I have never heard or seen a clip of this before. I stumbled on a short scene of this on you tube and was intrigued from watching this morsel. I felt compelled to watch this straight away and was not disappointed. This is a low budget British film that falls into several categories, Revenge, darkly comic, Thriller cum horror. It is also a tale of loss and being lost and borders on the supernatural and mental illness. I was actually scared watching this and shocked to be honest. There is no finesse or pomp in its acting and the characters are mainly unpleasant .Paddy Consadines portrayal as Richard is up there with Ben Kingsleys Don Logan and Joe Pesci's Tommy DeVito and is thoroughly menacing. I highly recommend this.
