i must have seen a different film!!
Very interesting film. Was caught on the premise when seeing the trailer but unsure as to what the outcome would be for the showing. As it turns out, it was a very good film.
All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.
Why don't these mainstream 9/11 things ever put in stuff about William Rodriguez, the life saving janitor on 9/11 who felt explosions in the sub-basement BEFORE the plane hit. look him up and watch his testimony. How come they never involve inaccuracies in the media. BBC reported WTC7 collapse 20 MINUTES before it happened! This is just another version of 9/11 that makes Americans feel sorry for the government and hate so called "terrorists." The war on terror is unreal. "When the people are afraid of the government there is tyranny, when the government is afraid of the people there is liberty" - Thomas Jefferson Please watch a real 9/11 video made with victims family members and first responders. Watch it FOR FREE on google video. "9/11 Press for Truth" search it. watch it.
ABC TV was paid to air this right wing propaganda from the deep pockets of radical Christian Fundamentalists. It tortures the truth in an attempt to lay all blame for the WTC attack upon previous (Democratic) administrations. It ignores the incessant and urgent warnings from the outgoing administration, which had successfully tracked down and arrested the perpetrators of the first WTC attack, that Al Queda should receive first priority. In spite of this, the first authority on Al Queda, Richard Clark was demoted and excluded from meetings to plan the grab for the oil riches of Iraq. This is the truth of 9/11 the right and the media prostitutes at ABC don't want you to know. And that they were paid a significant sum to air this screed without having to find sponsors is in itself a significant factor.
Excellent docudrama. I suggest everyone see it when they have a chance and ponder the history of the 90's. That it bothers the left so much tells a lot about what they didn't do. They make excuses and this show while somewhat fictionalized in its actions shows that fact of history is true. We had opportunities to have bin Laden handed to us. The people who understood the threat were marginalized and ignored. We had a president who shamelessly led us into a two year forest of persona scandal when he could have been doing his job. His job was protecting the United States not hanging out with 21 year old interns. Instead of having stopped Bin Laden we are faced with if onlys and a former president who bullies news reporters when they ask him the questions he can barely ask himself. A must see for every American who wants to know why and wants the honest truth.
This is a must see film, done extremely well, both in acting and directing. At the time of this writing, the film is rated a low 5.9 which I think has a lot to do with those who are wearing political blinders. Over 400 of them gave this film a one rating. Please. You may not like the movie's politics, but it is well made and NOt some sort of "right wing propaganda" film as some critics claim. Two of my favorite scenes involve the border agent who intercepts the terrorist trying to come into the country with a carload of supplies to make bombs and earlier, the tension generated by the scenes following the Muslim man opposed to killing innocent women and children, as he prepares to turn over the bomb maker from the first World Trade Center bombing. Are they on to him? Is he getting away with this? Its great suspense.Keitel is also terrific and well cast as the main FBI agent in charge and it was good seeing Dan Lauria in something other than a "dad" role. He was also quite effective. It's good film-making. And tells a story a good many of us lived through, but didn't really pay much attention to at the time.
