At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
It's a movie as timely as it is provocative and amazingly, for much of its running time, it is weirdly funny.
It is an exhilarating, distressing, funny and profound film, with one of the more memorable film scores in years,
Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.
Overall a very good show. Of course it was presented in a pretty sensationalistic manner, but that is what I expected and probably what I would have done myself if I was in charge of making it. The only really stupid thing was presenting the threat of an alien invasion as being a significant one, which I personally find utterly ridiculous, although, no doubt, a few other people are going to disagree. Aliens are one thing I just can't bring myself to seriously consider worrying about for various reasons having to do with pretty basic physics. Similarly, the bit about the miniature black holes was pretty much a waste of time, except that it did help segue into another segment. All things considered, fun and well-put together with very good visuals and competent talking heads.
