I really wanted to like this movie. I feel terribly cynical trashing it, and that's why I'm giving it a middling 5. Actually, I'm giving it a 5 because there were some superb performances.

I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

"60 Spins Around the Sun" is positively engrossing. Randy Credico is pretty out there, but he's one of the few people in this world who see injustice and get off their easy chairs and DO something meaningful about it. The interviews with Randy and the girlfriends are terrific -- Vanessa Hollingshead is especially engaging. It was also quite beautiful to watch the Mothers of the Missing joking about this eccentric guy who works so passionately to get their kids out of prison. Randy Credico and the filmmakers call our attention -- DEMAND our attention to racism and injustice -- and they show us how an ordinary citizen can make big changes in the world.
