It is a performances centric movie
This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.
I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.
The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
testimonies. words. images. a portrait. nothing new. but interesting for rediscover a beautiful actress. and her universe. for admire the puzzle who presents a career in simple details. a film about Sophia Loren is seductive like her. the passion and deep admiration from Omar Shariff. the verdicts of Robert Altman. the words of her sister. the scenes from the first ages. and the fight for success, family and self definition. maybe, for admirers only. because it is a collection of memories, a homage and good occasion to remind an Italian star. she is not Katherine Hepburn or Meryl Streep. but , for generation, she remains symbol.for a form of sensitivity, acting and European civilization. and that is the good side of documentary. that is the only important thing.
