An Exercise In Nonsense

I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.

Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.

An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.

I watched it because Gael Garcia Bernal have never played or directed a movie that I didn't like...First of all, sorry for my English...The problem in this movie is that there is many non sens !A couple that is so close that they don't even need to talk to understand each other... it looks like deep and healthy love ! She seems to be someone simple and easygoing to never complain in a difficult trip like this..I don't get the incident, he'd protected her, and when you don't speak the same language, you can only talk with your eyes, in this situation!So I can't understand her behavior. Instead of taking care of him or even ask question if he is fine, she doesn't care... but when he hurt his leg with a stone, she asks twice if he is fine ! I don't see where is the point ! true lovers don't behave like that... it's like you see another woman suddenly and it could be logical if the incident was different but in this case, it's not understandable for me at all !You just realize that he is always here for her and she is obviously selfish and awful but this is also not understandable, because it's the opposite of her personality at the beginning of the movie !So it's really improbable for me to believe that Gael Garcia Bernal is happy with the result ! As his work is always perfect with deep meaning !

I just wasted 2 hours of my life on a movie about nothing. I am a bit angry after seeing this and I have never wanted to fall asleep in a movie but this time I truly did.I would love to know why showing a girl peeing in the night or a man removing a tampon from a girls hoohah is somehow artistic or informative? You could have taken 1 point and shoot photo of this movie and it would tell you everything you needed to know about the story, or lack of. The Georgian dancers in the club did a better job than the writers, directors and producers of this artsy turd.Save your time, patience and sanity and go and watch 1.57 hr of knitting.

Gael García Bernal and Hani Furstenberg are an engaged couple backpacking in Georgia along with their local guide. Along the way, they meet up with some locals and one incident causes a major rift between the couple. It is not really spoken of but yet it surely existed. The question then becomes can they heal the rift and reconnect.I understand the need for this to be understated. That's what's so important here. We don't want some drag out screaming match. But understated doesn't have to mean grindingly slow. At times, there's too many no-talking-slow-walking-long-distance-extended scenes. Those aren't all necessary. Cut those down and insert more dialog.

Dear God... No. Just no...I wish I could have my 113 minutes back. I would use the time to clean my A/C vents (as I had planned to do until I got interested in this hunk of doo after reading the synopsis). Seriously, I regret wasting my time on this "movie". How disappointing. Nice scenery. The acting is fine. No plot. No message. No character development. Nothing. a bunch of nothingness. No, just NO. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING to this thing. Nada. Ziltch. I NEVER write reviews ...THAT is how much this thing sucked. I only wish to warn other poor, unsuspecting souls who might consider watching this. I am actually ANGRY! Yes, it is that bad.
