Thirteen (2016)
This Five-part BBC psychological drama follows Ivy Moxam, a 26-year-old woman who was abducted when she was 13 and held captive for the next 13 years. The story begins as she escapes the cellar she was being held in and goes to the police station to report her ordeal to D.S. Lisa Merchant and D.I. Elliott Carne. But as she narrates and relives her experiences with the police, cracks begin to appear in Ivy's version of events leading the officers and her family to question her story. Will she ever reveal the truth about what she experienced in her captor's house?

Good start, but then it gets ruined
Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.
Unshakable, witty and deeply felt, the film will be paying emotional dividends for a long, long time.
It is neither dumb nor smart enough to be fun, and spends way too much time with its boring human characters.
Although a great cast and well directed, the series turns towards the unconscionable when they begin to blame the victim for her own abduction. Being American and the victim of a brutal attack in London, I can express that my experiences with the British legal system were much the same. Shameful.
This was a good enough watch with some great points of dramatic tension,but it all got a little stretched out, with the interweaving characters' stories getting a bit over-played. If this had been done by the CSI stable I reckon they'd have got the right balance of believable action and cliffhanger episode endings. It's an imaginative take on a tragic real-life theme and the lead actor carries the victim role well. But on the flip side, this actor is reduced to constant baffled gurning. Yes, we got it,emotional turmoil....a hard gig to sustain, and it's creaking by the end. On a personal note I found the indulged daftness of the victim's middle-class family by turns irrititating and alienating. If being very picky you could criticise the police ineptness in the last episode as being totally unrealistic but sadly it isn't. But being of a fire-fighter's family, I found the circumstances of the final escape were just more than could be believed and actually let down the rest of the series.
Spoiler alert. After reading the good reviews of this movie, I am wondering if we were watching a different movie. This movie was the most annoying movie I ever saw. The characters are all unbelievable and the dialog ridiculous. The acting absurd. The main character Ivy was most annoying, I wanted to grab the words out of her mouth. The female detective, I was hoping she would be killed. The end, episode 5, I was hoping for the demise of Ivy. Idiotiotic. I wasted 5 hours watching this.
I want to see the rest . these first 2 disc only left you hanging for more . I called my public library but they do not have any other ones. Please finish making these disc. This movie was wonderful . Kept you on the edge of your seat than wham it was over not telling you if the 10 year old 2 kidnapped girl is saved . I WANT MORE PLEASE ! :( My husband and I love god thrilling movies like this . We want to see if the 10 year old girl is saved by the 26 year old woman that was kidnapped by the same man for 13 years . If the 26 year old named Ivy goes to meet the man again to save the other 10 year old life we to know what happens. It is a mini series but I was told I might have to wait 1-2 years before I get to see the final part of it .That is a long time to wait to see the end of a movie !
