It's not great by any means, but it's a pretty good movie that didn't leave me filled with regret for investing time in it.

Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.

Let's begin with the title "Yuvvraaj" - yet another example the numerological fetishism Bollywood has succumbed to. Whether numerology can actually convert bad apples into a hit is reserved for a debate on an another day. "Yuvvraaj" is an apt example of "Elegant prose cannot hide inelegant logic". Every frame glitters like gold and no two ways about that. Sadly the entire proceedings are as enticing as a corpse. The characters are do ruddy with life that they practically need birth certificates. ° Anil Kapoor (the lucky mascot for Mr. Ghai) reprises his "Eeshwar" (read that day-light robbery). ° Whenever Katrina ended up the sole-heroine opposite Salman the results were disastrous. "Yuvvraaj" is not an exception either, jinxed perhaps?° Zayed Khan needs acting lessons badly. Aushima Sawhney thinks looks alone would suffice. Its never too late for both of you to secure admission into "Whistling Woods".° Mithun & Boman Irani show up to collect their cheques.° The Mamaji/ Mamiji characters for today's generation is past sell-by- date.° Music: Mr. Ghai manages to connive Rahman in an attempt to pull off yet another "Taal". And with "Jai Ho" ringing cash registers at the international level proves the lady luck has run away from Mr. Ghai as fast as legs could carry. ° Lyrics: The gap of Anand Bakshi is attempted to be fulfilled by roping in Gulzar for lyrics and he seems not too happy about it."Yaadien", "Kisna", "Black & White" and now "Yuvvraaj"- shrouds the abysmal depth the creativity of showman has stooped to. A reality check on the work of Mr. Ghai so far::Θ Krodhi - Uncanny resemblance to "Jwaalamukhi".Θ Meri Jung - Remake of South-Indian movie.Θ Karz - "The rip- off Peter Proud"Θ Karma - Plagiarised "Sholay".Θ Khalnayak - "Hero" recycled.Θ Ram Lakhan - "Deewar" wine in a new bottle.Θ Kisna - I can a "Lagaan" too!Relinquish your self-proclaimed "Showman" title with grace before it is posthumously stripped!!

Bollywood's bad PR continues with the release of this movie.Plus Great cinematography and good music score. Beautiful locations and grand sets.Spoilers This movie is so lame! Terrible repeating of the same background music score. Bad acting by Salman and Katrina. Zalman Khan, you can't act! Katrina Kaif can only smile like a barby doll. Terrible overacting by Anil Kapoor, an autist who understands emotion. It seems like the director has thought that a consistent story doesn't count and just focus on picturizing and cast nice laughing people who overacts like idiots. Please Bollywood stop producing this kind of horror. From now on I will only watch movie of Mira Nair, Vidhu Chopra and Farhan Akhtar's.

This was an absolute disaster, and almost painful to sit through. The only thing the film has going for it are fabulous European locations and grand sets. Otherwise, bad acting abounds, with the main culprits being Salman and Katrina. Some of the dialog is ludicrous ("a hard-core anti-family man!!"), and unfortunately uttered with a straight face. Boman Irani is wasted in a clichéd role. Anil Kapoor has some energy but is sidelined for long periods of time. The plot line is incoherent and makes little sense. Quite frankly, the film is a complete waste of time.Overall 1/10

Well what do we say of Subhash Ghai? The man made entertainers like KARZ, RAM LAKHAN.etc nothing extraordinary but well made entertainers Today he is gone, washed out Starting from the debacles of the craps YAADEIN which was more of an advertisement of coca cola and pass pass.etc and then to KISNA, BLACK AND WHITE and now YUVVRAAJSo what did Subhash Ghai first do while planning the film? Well he thought today a hit film requires a big star cast, a dramatic story plus some hit songs and a beautiful scenerySo he goes knocking to Anil Kapoor who was his lucky mascot earlier, then he chose Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif whose pairing he felt will attract crowds He promoted the film as a musical, fine The movie starts with a boring 1980's type love story and a father who seems like An Amrish Puri type father, who doesn't agree for the marriage, oh wow- such a novel storyWait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!There is a back story of Salman being an anti- family man, one of the boring scenes and katrina's funny accent saying anti- family man so funny Then Salman comes to know his pop is dad after a long 1/2 hr or so And he goes to his family where he has an autistic brother(Anil)actually he gives lectures on emotions to his uncle, i feel Subhash did not know what is autism , a party animal kinda brother Zayed Khan demanding their shares And a long haired 2-3 scene appearance Mithun All property is in Anil's name and rest are left with nothing So now starts a cat-mouse game,Salman tries to befriend Anil and Zayed too tries the same This looks like a TV soap, well yes we also have an evil sister-in law and an evil mama wow Seems like a comedy, well an unintentional one Direction by Subhash is poor Editing is weak music(A.r.rehman) except Dost is bad Cinematography is great Amongst performances Sallu plays himself yet again with that fake accent, also his looks keep changing, he does impress in some scenes though Anil kapoor tries damn hard to play his part and is decent, though nothing compared to EESHWAR Katrina Kaif is her usual self, non actress Zayed Khan is bad Boman irani overacts badly
