A young performance artist decides to make his own suicide his last work of art. On the longest day of the year, he plans to melt a huge block of ice with his own body heat and die of hypothermia. He calls this protest against the coldness of society "Funeral on Ice." Based on a true story.

Clever, believable, and super fun to watch. It totally has replay value.
Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.
The acting is good, and the firecracker script has some excellent ideas.
I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.
The literal translation of the title of this film is: Extreme Cold.The film is based on a true story, which did created much debate when it actually happened, but when it was turned into a movie, there was a huge debate about the right to die. The debate left behind by this film is still unsolved but through it, it really makes everyone appreciate life.
This movie is an interesting look at the artistic underground in China, but more than that its a thought provoking meditation on the value of life. Its also a good story... the ending has several unexpected and shocking plot twists, and this movie will leave you thinking for a while. In spite of (or perhaps because of) the rather dark quality of the movie, it leaves you with a deeper appreciation for life.
