Best movie of this year hands down!
Simply A Masterpiece
Simple and well acted, it has tension enough to knot the stomach.
The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
I approached this film (as they say) with some reluctance, perhaps especially by some negative comments I had read about it in the Spanish media. I must say, and this is of course a very personal opinion, that the film deserves a higher score than has been given, clearly not a masterpiece, but the actors are quite good, especially Juan Diego, and the script (which seems to owe much to the book of Javier Cercas, which I have read recently, and this is one reason which I was very happy to watch a new version of this historical event) is quite correct. In short, I recommend it for those who lived coup (and already have 40 springs) and luckily for were born after they shall learn things. There is a miniserie about the king of Spain (Luis Homar is the main actor) in which the 23-F occupies a lot of space, but it's not as interesting as this one.
