I am only giving this movie a 1 for the great cast, though I can't imagine what any of them were thinking. This movie was horrible

Fanciful, disturbing, and wildly original, it announces the arrival of a fresh, bold voice in American cinema.

It is encouraging that the film ends so strongly.Otherwise, it wouldn't have been a particularly memorable film

That was my favorite line in the whole movie. All I have to say is I felt cheated. The description led me to believe I would watch a mixture of 'House Party' and 'Evil Dead'. It promised me "hip-hop yup's" and "groupies". The cover had kids in hammer pants and a guy that looked like Boy George.Did I get any of that? No. I got a movie that introduced a character by having everyone screaming his/her name in an empty mansion. Two nobodies show up just to raise the body count and to have a questionably aged girl flash the screen. Also for some reason they only ran around the same rooms. The villain was an old crone that could only be stopped by stabbing her hunchback. Lot's of people die in ridiculous ways and there's blood. And of course a loose plot.I felt cheated because there was no rapping, no hip-hop or even a little slam poetry. I mean the guys on the cover didn't resemble anyone in the movie. That's why I watched it! I hoped some kid would have a rap battle with a zombie in overalls.Have I seen worst films? Sure. But if you're going to advertise the movie as urban kids meet undead, country cracker grandma please come thru for me.

This is one of my top ten zombies/young people trapped in a mansion movie. I own a copy under its other title : "The House On Tombstone Hill", which if you ask me, I like better than "Dead Dudes In The House".Two gals and five guys (plus two teenagers who appear in the last 30 minutes) enter a big, old, creepy mansion where soon they find themselves trapped. Doors won't open, windows are unbreakable and soon they begin dying one by one. Some of the murders are off-screen, others you do get to watch happening as the old woman who haunts the mansion uses all sorts of sharp instruments to kill them.Beware of the Troma DVD release, I bought it thinking it had some kind of special feature like behind the scenes or audio commentary, it doesn't and the quality is NOT good.

Yay! I can still remember watching this movie on a Friday night on USA Network. After watching the opening credits I thought this is gonna be a crappy zombie flick... I was wrong. The plot is creative : A bunch of teens settle for a weekend in an old house where -accidentally- an old lady awakens from the dead. And that's when things start to get ugly, and I mean UGLY. One by one these dumb teens get killed by the old lady, and them become zombies... Sounds nice eh? Well you should see the ending then. I won't tell more, because you should see this movie if you are a horror fan that appreciates low budget. This movie is something you've seen, but it has some creative scenes and a primitive direction that will make you wonder "why movies like this are so underrated?"... Recommended for the horror genre fans.

During my sophomore year of college, my roommate and I rented just about every video from the shlock-horror section of Oasis Video in Salt Lake City. (I hope Oasis is still there). Run back to back with movies like Reanimator, Basket Case, The Evil Dead trilogy and Dead Alive, (plus ALL the Troma we could eat) I thought Dead Dudes was remarkably good. Low budget, funny, kinda creepy, and the best kind of ending:unhappy! I recommend viewing this with a 976-EVIL for maximum horror movie pleasure.
