Plenty to Like, Plenty to Dislike
A brilliant film that helped define a genre
A lot of perfectly good film show their cards early, establish a unique premise and let the audience explore a topic at a leisurely pace, without much in terms of surprise. this film is not one of those films.
It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.
A profesor. as guide. the memories about events from past. and the meet with the ghosts of that days. the house is the lead source of seduction. near decent performances and the atmosphere reminding old Victorian ghost stories. the cinematography is impecable and the precise guide to show a coherent but too short story a real good point. so, a beautiful film. piece from a noble tradition.
