The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.

This is a must-see and one of the best documentaries - and films - of this year.

True to its essence, the characters remain on the same line and manage to entertain the viewer, each highlighting their own distinctive qualities or touches.

Without a doubt the worst piece of junk ever made. When I was watching it I thought it to be some kind of project made by a media class in High School. The actors are terrible (and I seriously doubt that any of them have taken acting classes). The effects are even worse and there is NO story line whatsoever. The good thing about it is that you'll spend a lot of time laughing at the movie. Especially one of the characters who has a hairstyle similar to Garths from Waynes World. It is a mystery how they managed to lure so many people into this project. And how it ever made it to the DVD-market is beyond me. The weirdest thing is that I found it in the local Block Buster.

Don't watch this movie - it will forever ruin your opinion about Swedish films. The movie is about some exchange students (wow, that's funny coz they all speak extremely bad English with a Swedish accent... Even the girl who is supposed to be from the UK can't speak properly) who goes to Gotland for some summer trip or whatever. And there a lot of dumb stuff happen. The acting, the props, the plot - everything IS a big joke. It looks exactly like a high-school production. Some examples that made me wanna throw up my pizza: 1) Main characters who severely lacks acting skills, who are supposed to be foreigners yet they speak English with Swedish accent. 2) A police scene where they have "painted" the letters "Polis" on a rusty old white Ford Escort. You don't even have to be a native swede to see that it's fake... and the officers, the officers are wearing some blue coveralls. It's just saddening. 3) Some Arabian guy riding a horse on the beaches of Gotland. Shooting a desert scene on Gotland and pretending it to be a desert is pathetic. After maybe 15 minutes I couldn't stand watching any more of that filth, so I turned it off. Anyway, if you have ever wondered what they torture prisoners of war with, then this movie is your answer. No sane person can watch this movie to the end without turning insane.

I rented this movie just because I wanted to see a horror movie taking place on Gotland. When I saw the first scene with the Arabian guy riding a horse on the shores of Gotland I began to laugh out loud. I mean... Shooting a scene on a sand shore and pretending it to be a desert or whatever is just hilarious. And then when I got introduced to the main characters I was like: "huh?". They were talking English with Swedish accents and were overall acting bad. And the plot was extremely poor (even for a horror movie). The only nice scene was the psycho-pathologist.And when the movie finally ended I started the movie with director comments on, and then it got worse. The directors were talking extremely satisfied about how long they've been working to get all the scenes shot and so on. I was truly angry after seeing it. Don't see it.

Well, as a real fan of Swedish movies, Hemligheten turned to be a huge flop. The movie was a mixture of armature video and low budget stuff that made this cocktail painful to watch. I had high expectations and was looking forward to see it but after seeing it I was just laughing. At first (about 10 min) it seemed to bee a horror movie (Blair witch style) but suddenly it had some weird amateur comedy... I ask my self, what was this movie supposed to bee? The ting I hated most about this movie was that they wanted to scare us, make this a horror movie, but it turned out to bee a mixture of some really, I mean REALLY bad acting and (can't stop laughing) spoken in English, why!? Was the decision of making it an American / Swedish -movie a trick to make it more international or was it just a practical joke? Having Swedish as a mother tongue, I heard from the accent (before I checked the points, and the actors names on this website) that the actors was all Swedish, well, they were acting as students from the US. I mean, OK, my text here is far from perfect but why did they have pick that role? The movie could just as easy be about some tourists from Sweden how visit Gotland. Well, I'm not a movie maker and I seldom criticize movies but this time I just had to register and warn other consumers./Tomas
