if their story seems completely bonkers, almost like a feverish work of fiction, you ain't heard nothing yet.

This movie has all the things a horror movie should have with suspenseful and bloody kill scenes along with nudity and sex.. But this movie suffered from poor acting along with a script that could have been better written as it had some plot holes in it plus the cinematography was poorly done in some scenes. However the soundtrack was decent and the scene with a woman trying to seduce the pool boy was hilarious which is why I gave it 5 stars.

The Plot.A sex-crazed nympho helps speed along her father's death so she can use the inheritance to help out her depraved boyfriend.Firstly the movie sucks. It's one of the weirdest films you'll ever see, and not in a good way. It's really horribly tedious to watch. On the plus side the technicolor rendering is great. But to be perfectly frank, all three stars I am giving this movie are because of the female lead who had the hottest body I have ever seen.Coupled with this is her complete willingness to strip down every 5 seconds. It's an amazing body to observe. Not an ounce of fat and the longest, flattest torso you will ever see.Get out the Vaseline.

BLOOD MANIA is another ultra-obscure US grindhouse horror film featuring the one and only Peter Carpenter (POINT OF TERROR), a mysterious acting figure who died in strange circumstances at the peak of his movie career. Carpenter's distinctive style of non-acting has to be seen to be believed, and is one of the most fun things about these otherwise below-par films. This film in particular tries to be a psychological thriller but it turns out to be your routine softcore film packed with wall-to-wall nudity from various voluptuous starlets. The acting is bad and the plot is virtually non-existent, instead the viewer is treated to one sweaty sex scene after another. And when there's no sex, there's just nude scene after nude scene, including a lengthy piece of camera-work shot from waist height looking up at a particularly top-heavy actress. There is some semblance of a narrative involving an indebted doctor, an ailing father, and the nymphomaniac who ties the two together, but it's all staged so ineptly that it's hard to make sense of any of it. There's no gore or violence to speak of either, just a cheesy twist ending which is quite laughable. In other words, BLOOD MANIA is par for the course for those guys at Crown International Pictures.

Written by and staring Peter Carpenter, this is likable enough but doesn't really deliver. Apart from many rather good, unusual and colourful camera angles, this has more the look and feel of a TV movie than a 'Drive-In Classic' and we certainly have to wait a long time for any blood or mania. The story is well enough told and just about holds the interest, helped enormously by the above average psychedelic soundtrack, but it can be slow at times. indeed we get slow motion scenes and occasionally it appears the film may actually stop. There is a fair amount of flesh on display but it is not blatant and the scenes often rather dark. So, if the title suggests, sex and violence, be more prepared for an updated Peyton Place.
