In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.

Unshakable, witty and deeply felt, the film will be paying emotional dividends for a long, long time.

Found Footage 3D is not the worst found footage I've ever see, I dislike for example, Paranormal Activity much more, I dislike most/almost all of found footage films.. At least, here, they are self-aware and I liked that about the movie. And for me, the questions or the answer to these questions, "Why are you filming" and "Why are you keep filming when the crap hits the fan" makes a bit more sense than the usual found footage garbage. It reminded me of a horror game, with a camera, years back, some may know what I'm talking about.. Let's just say, I was pleasantly surprised with this movie, not to get total crap, as I was expecting. Not bad, but still far from very good. 5/10

I love found footage movies; I can find something good in the most incompetently-shot, horribly-acted found footage film. So let's get that out of the way: this movie has one really inspired scene of gore. The actors also do the best they can with what they're given - they are competent (particularly Beardy Sound Guy - love him), and they deserve better. Now, the bad: this movie, in an attempt to be edgy and self-aware, has its characters constantly pointing out the flaws in found footage movies. How they're all so terrible, how there's no reason to be filming all of this, how jump scares are dumb, and so on. It then goes on to indulge in all of those flaws, as though lampshading their use somehow forgives the filmmaker's transgressions.Spoiler: it does not. If this movie took those found footage tropes and turned them on their head, or put a novel spin on them, all of this winking at the audience could be forgiven. Instead, the filmmaker chooses to dutifully plod through FF clichés, to the point of lifting lines and shots from other, better films. They also commit the cardinal sin of naming better movies. Look, guys, if your movie sucks, you should not shout out to other movies -- it just reminds the audience that they could be spending their time with a better quality of entertainment. And, unfortunately, if you take out all of this winking and sneering, what you are left with is a very bland film. The scares are non-existent. The monster is the definition of boring. The characters are the worst kind of clichés, so much so that I don't know any of their names -- they are simply THE DOUCHE, THE PRIMA DONNA, THE QUIET GUY, THE DORK, THE OTHER GIRL, THE PRODUCER WHO INSISTED ON A SPEAKING ROLE, and Beardy Sound Guy, who I really liked. You'd think that as much time as the characters spend shouting out each others' names, one would have stuck, but nope. The best thing you can say about this film is that it is "competent". There are words, and they sound like they were spoken by humans. There are pictures, and you can generally see them. There is a location, and it looks like a place in the real world. But, honestly, I am willing to tolerate a bit of incompetence for some inventiveness, and that is one thing that this film SORELY lacks. I think I understand what they were going for, but for me, it didn't work. Unless the goal was to point out how bland, illogical, and uninspired found footage movies have become by making a bland, illogical, uninspired found footage movie...in which case, good job!

I don't like found footage movies. Even the ones I've come close to liking I felt would have been better if they had dropped the found footage aspect. The Blair Witch Project made me want to ask for my money back. That said, I loved Found Footage 3D!Found Footage 3D starts out as a legitimately funny satire of found footage horror films and, before you know it, it becomes a legitimately scary found footage horror film. The filmmaker handled the switch between spoof and horror so well that you barely notice it until you find yourself thinking, "Hey, when did that happen?" The cast is excellent, the story is well-developed and engaging, and the cinematography is great with some shots that make subtle but impressive use of 3D.I wasn't sure what to expect going into this movie given my general dislike of the found footage genre, but I walked away impressed by the discovery of a found footage film that I enjoyed. If you are a fan of found footage, you'll appreciate the ways this movie pokes fun at the genre yet becomes a unique entry into the steadily growing list of found footage films. If like me, you haven't been a fan of found footage, you should give this movie a chance. You might find yourself surprised.

Being a friend of the film's director, I have followed the production of Found Footage 3D for over 3 years. Despite not being a fan of horror or found footage films, I even contributed $55 to the 2014 Indiegogo campaign because I knew the director was very talented and clever (look up his short films "First Date" and "MacGuffin").Finally seeing this film at the London FrightFest was a great pleasure. My date and I came for just the single screening, and we were probably the only non-enthusiasts in the theater. We both loved Found Footage 3D, as did seemingly the rest of the audience too. The film is very well thought out and engages from start to finish. The thing unfolds so naturally that one does not have to consciously suspend his or her disbelief. Even the use of the cameras up to the final blood curdling scream is well justified.Found Footage 3D has mass-appeal potential because it "has something for everybody". As a horror film, it of course has scary and creepy moments, but these are not overly horrific or disgusting (i.e., it's not unsuitable for teenagers). The dialogue is witty, and the humorous moments are pretty much universally funny. For the adrenaline junkies, there is some heart-pumping, split-screen action to provide a sensory overload. The tender hearted will appreciate the inclusion of a strained marriage and love triangle exacerbated by an on-screen shagging.Found Footage 3D is well worth the cost of a 3D theater ticket. My lady friend said this movie could become a cult classic. It is an evergreen in the same way "Scream" is, and it will always be worthy of an in-home movie night with friends. Give yourself a treat and go see Found Footage 3D at your earliest convenience!
