Konthayum Poonoolum (2014)

There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes

A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.

The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful

The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.

Mostly the movie goes at a very slow pace. Through out there is an irritating background score as well. The horror parts of the movie and its explanations are mostly non-interesting.But the story sequence with Janarthanan, and the climax are excellent. Both these parts leaves you very heavy hearted.Kunchako Boban and Bhama paired pretty well. Shine Tom Chacko did a very good job in his role. There is a good song as well.I could not really understand the photographer story though.Camera work definitely needs improvement.So 5 rating for climax and Janarthanan's story.

Konthayum Poonoolum Is a refreshing Psychological Thriller until first half but unfortunately it fails in all terms in second half.The movie progress with different characters and different stories but they all link each other loosely while the movie progresses.Some story has a paranormal connection while some with emotional Connection.The Situations and problems created in first half is really interesting and engaging.But they failed to Solve them in second half and the bad script spoiled the party..! Final Verdict : Entertaining First Half And Badly scripted Second HalfSex&Violence: No sex or Nudity But The Movie Is related to paranormal And Horror Incidents and It May fright Some Viewers.

its one of the world class standard movie, in Malayalam. its a verity theme and the director executed at its best. What is ghost ? are they real ? who can give an answer ? movie creating a different mood . we also moving or thinking with the character .The ending is very brilliant attempt of director. its giving a choice to viewers.Technical department is very impressive. Shots,lights,BGM everything was perfectly mixed .director used ''silence '' very well to create the horror mood .. I personally likes two scene 1. Sethu and Johny meeting at home 2. mortuary scene .both are excellent work

The movie shows the life of certain individuals being affected by the nature's paranormal activities. The concept of this script shows logic on the unusual happenings going around and the link from each character to the next character has been nicely blended. However, towards the end, there still remain questions for the unresolved mysteries. The photographer's character and the lady dead near the pool has not been well explained by the script. The acting, direction and the camera angles being shot was amazing and has shown justice to the script. When it comes to Malayalam movies, there are very few such movies which can keep you scary at times.Overall, it has been a dedicated effort, but the second half and climax could have been better.
