Maxim and Svetlana 15 years together. He is a successful television journalist, she leads the heading "Women's Tears" in a popular women's magazine. One day, Maxim, preparing a report on influential politics, meets a young girl named Elena and unexpectedly passionately falls in love with her. I really wanted to like this movie. I feel terribly cynical trashing it, and that's why I'm giving it a middling 5. Actually, I'm giving it a 5 because there were some superb performances.
Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.
It's a movie as timely as it is provocative and amazingly, for much of its running time, it is weirdly funny.
