| Drama Romance TV Movie

When Hannah Pinkham's fiancé writes he's finally shipping home, her mother makes a fairy tale wedding dress, but while she's fitting it the knock on the door is not him, but the dreaded officer-messenger. Years later she sends it to her nephew, photographer Travis Cleveland, but his model-bride Cass only pretends to like it to get rid of his loyal assistant. After he walks off with it, his car gets stolen with the dress in it... And it keeps passing on from person to person, but will anybody actually get married in it or does it just keep bringing bad luck to couples?

I am only giving this movie a 1 for the great cast, though I can't imagine what any of them were thinking. This movie was horrible

This story has more twists and turns than a second-rate soap opera.

The biggest problem with this movie is it’s a little better than you think it might be, which somehow makes it worse. As in, it takes itself a bit too seriously, which makes most of the movie feel kind of dull.

This was screened on TV yesterday afternoon, and I thoroughly enjoyed an hour and a half of relaxed light entertainment. I am in full agreement with the great majority of reviewers of this title who indicate their strong approval. If your taste is for sexual promiscuity, foul language and tragedy, this is definitely not for you. It is not moralizing, but is strongly supportive of the sanctity of marriage with one exception. While it would be quite easy to find fault, you will be well rewarded if you concentrate on the cast of attractive and believable characters for whom you should feel a warm affection. There is an abundance of situations and dialogue which tie together beautifully in fairy tale fashion, which is the strength and charm of this delightful movie. It's a shame there's no Region 2 DVD at present, but do make an effort to watch it somehow if you have a romantic side to your nature.

I have often thought of this movie, not able to remember the title, but through the "magic" of the internet, and the above listed scenarios, am now able to run this to ground! Is it possible this film is available on VHS or DVD? The crying fiancé of the soldier, loosing the dress out the window of the car, the twists and turns of the plot, tying all characters together in quirky and "how did that happen?" ways, was such a treat and a welcomed relief from the drudge that is most TV movies. I want my best friend to see this, I want my husband to see this. I was uplifted, saddened, and tearfully joyful by the end, but most of all, I was entertained!

This movie does have many stories in them, but I found it interesting how they dovetail together. It is a movie well worth watching. Tyne Daley has certainly handed down her acting skill to her daughter (especially when she plays her own daughter). I enjoyed it and found myself "feeling good" when it ended. I watch for enjoyment, not necessarily for reality.

I loved this movie. Yes, it is predictable as far as you are pretty certain what the end will be. But the journey to get there was entirely enjoyable and full of sometimes far-fetched twists and turns. Good chemistry between all the cast. It's a "wifey" movie for sure, sweet and romantic. I watched it twice the weekend I taped it and smiled through it both times.
