Simply A Masterpiece
Clever, believable, and super fun to watch. It totally has replay value.
It is not deep, but it is fun to watch. It does have a bit more of an edge to it than other similar films.
The story-telling is good with flashbacks. The film is both funny and heartbreaking. You smile in a scene and get a soulcrushing revelation in the next.
An international ski competition is going to take place in La Molina, Catalan Pyrenées. Ramon (Tony Leblanc) meets Nuria (Concha Velasco) in Barcelona and decides to follow her to the snow pretending to be a professional skier. The film, although very bad indeed, is interesting for two main reasons: gives us the opportunity to see a glimpse of Barcelona (the old city specially) in the 60's and has two nice songs: the title one (Amor bajo cero) and Bajo el sol de Capri, sung by Pedro Osinaga courting in the ski resort. All the rest has no interest at all and is a typical example of cinema made in Spain during the dictatorship.
