The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.

People, you are being very unkind to this movie. It is not as bad as many of you make it out to be. A totally valid point is that the male lead is too weak to carry it off. Stacy Christensen, a wonderful girl-next-door type with drop-dead gorgeous looks depending on the angle of the camera, wows me with a surprisingly good performance. That 'mean kid' Randy seemed to have been played by a dreary male model type who is obviously all show and no go = another weak performance in a key role. The little friend kind of was a stronger performance while that wasn't really necessary. The soundtrack, at times, with that instrumental number, wants to take off with a John Hughes movie type sound... You wanna add "Hey, hey, hey, hey" to it and go "no chains could keep us apart" and the Eighties vibe is naturally there, but this is, of course, not in the class of CAN'T BUY ME LOVE and SAY ANYTHING or any John Hughes movie.Anybody notice the simmering Tom Cruise idolization? He is referenced, and there seems to be a predominant RISKY BUSINESS vibe with the Ray-Bans and the music miming. The movie is worth seeing for Stacy Christensen. But had she not been in it, had some other actress been cast, chances are it would have fallen totally totally flat. But she saves it from being a total disaster and merits the watching thereof. Even if the movie is a dork, you won't mind so much.Anyway, I have very little hope for some of the other titles on the Dangerous Babes box-set, and is just relieved that this one wasn't a total waste of time. The title of the movie sounded snidely sarcastic and I expected something kinda rude with the girl as target. This movie on the Dangerous Babes collection is kinda out of place. This is a sweet offering, family fare (well, almost).I've noticed that Stacy has only acted in one other movie. She went to the other side of the camera. But judging from this, she should have been in several more, and opposite a worthy star actor.

Shy and insecure nerd Mike (a fine and likable portrayal by Joseph R. Straface) makes a $2,000 dollar bet with smarmy jerk big man on campus Randy (a pleasingly obnoxious turn by Lee Barringer) that he can deflower Diane (a wonderfully sweet and beguiling performance by the adorable Stacy Christensen), who's the most popular girl in high school. However, things get complicated when Mike falls in love with Diane. Writer/director Francesco Lucente takes a premise that could have been easily done as your basic crassly pandering raunchy smut and instead treats it with surprising taste, warmth, heart, and even genuine charm: There's a touching and good-natured affinity and sensitivity for the appealing main characters that's impossible to dislike or resist, Mike's fantasies are both funny and witty (the James Bond send-up are especially amusing), and the upbeat conclusion doesn't comes across as remotely forced or too sappy. Straface and Christensen both do terrific work in the lead roles; they receive fine support from J.T. Wotton as Mike's loyal, long-suffering friend Charles, Anna Lisa Iapaolo as Diane's sarcastic best gal pal Judy, and Bev Wotton as Diane's strict, overprotective mother. Joseph Bitonti's bright cinematography gives this movie an attractive sunny look. The bouncy rock soundtrack keeps things bubbling along. A real sleeper.

A terrible movie, but worth seeing if you enjoy laughing at a ridiculous 80's stinker. Everything about it sucks, and I believe thatthe main character, Mike, is one of the most repulsive humanbeings on the planet. I can't imagine anyone ever wanting tospend more than a few minutes with him, left alone a whole nightat the notorious "Paradise Bungalows" as the poor Virgin Queendoes. Unintentionally hilarious, this film contains some wonderfulcinematic moments such as a Daddy Long Legs attack, a 20minute James Bond dream sequence, and a man-in-bear-suitattack. Watch it with friends if you're bored enough, but make sureyou don't see it alone, or your witty insults and snorts of laughterwill go unappreciated.

It is after all a comedy and I couldn't help but laugh at this movie. There is a person dressed in a bear suit that scares some kids into believing it's a real bear. Think that Mike somehow got his brother to dress in a fake bear outfit? Naw, this movie would say, "this is real freakin bear and it's after Mike and the virgin."
