It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional

This movie feels like it was made purely to piss off people who want good shows

It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.

"At Granny's House", Available on Amazon Prime, iTunes, and Vimeo (worldwide).Writer/ Director Les Mahoney who also plays the lead is a Horror/ Thriller that's starts off as a normal movie, than quickly escalates to a bizarre who's who! A elderly Ladies son seeks a caregiver for his mom. Wanted to live his own life he settles on a young lady played deviously by the lovely and talented (Rachel Alig) that has all the answers and seems like the perfect women to care for his mom. The son has his bad packed and out the door before another word is said. At first the mom doesn't really care for her but soon grows to like and bond with her. Shortly after settling in she devised and idea to offer the basement to weary travelers Looking for free room and board. She convinces Marion the old lady about her idea and how wonderful it would be to meet new people! The boarders start checking and not checking out. This goes on till one day she falls for one of the passerby and his wife. She convinces him to be with her and he Joins her in her sick game. This movie has so many twists and turns, you never know what to expect or who to trust. There is plenty of very sensual scenes between the 2 main characters and you really get sucked into there demented twisted scheme. I am really impressed with everyone involved in this complex mystery. It is chilling and Rachel Alig is really captivating as the pretty psycho who has no conscience. I really want to see this young lady in more roles, she carried the movie and had you mesmerized. Glenda Morgan Brown as Granny was equally good and played her role with such substance, you really feel for her character and what she was going through! She felt abandoned and this young lady offered her companionship and friendship. She was no longer alone and had a constant friend. Being an Indy filmmaker who also did everything in his movie, I really respect Les Mahoney for taking not only the lead role, but also writting and Directing. He nailed each job perfectly. The chemistry between him and Rachel were realistically portrayed. I would like to see them reunite in another feature. I really enjoyed this and found it haunting and unsettling. If your into something different and not a color by number Predictable Slasher flick give this one a try. I fell in love with Rachel Alig, and loved her deliveries and performance. A must view!Bill Oberst Jr., Rachel Alig Glenda Morgan Brown , Les Mahoney, Charles A. Baird, Bryant Watts and Laura Lee. Written/Directed by Les Mahoney

I look thru the other reviews for this movie, and it just blows me away to hear so many negative comments about this film. It really makes me wonder if they watched this movie or not! Because of all the "haters" out there, I would like to give you my comments, because i HAVE watched this movie, and really enjoyed it.Acting: very strong, overall. The guy who played granny's son is not the greatest, but he goes away after ten minutes. "Granny" is an amazing actress who really shines, as is Rebecca. Overall the cast was very strong.Story: Very interesting. I don't want to give anything away, but i think this story has a very contemporary feel to it, and addresses a major social problem.Suspense: Yeah, it's creepy!Technical: I love the way this movie was shot--lots of interesting angles and lighting.Music: really good, complimented the imagery very well.To be honest, i think some people just like to criticize--i have no idea how anyone could give this movie less than 6 or 7 stars, and to give it one star is atrocious!

After i've watched this movie i really feel i should write a short helpful review. DON'T WATCH IT. I can't describe how bad it is, honestly. While i was watching i had only one question on my mind. Which is worse the plot, the acting or the directing? Still unanswered. I've seen some bad movies now and then, i'm usually neutral about them but this got out of hand. No action at all, 1 hour and a half i could have spent doing nothing. To be fair though, it had some moments that could make this movie work as an average comedy. For example while the couple was in bed they were seeing visions on the ceiling. For real, they actually did it twice. I laughed, that got me.

Good creepy fun - a suspenseful tale that takes aim at the idea of a "sweet little old lady," with strong performances particularly from Rachel Alig and Glenda Morgan Brown. Writer-Director Les Mahoney has a feel for Hitchcockian atmosphere and characterizations. Working on a modest budget he achieves some of the tension missing from bigger Hollywood features.Mahoney himself plays a love interest for Alig's caretaker character and his entrance into the film brings additional complications. The script is loaded up with some great twists, including one final turn at the end. Enjoy!
