It’s an especially fun movie from a director and cast who are clearly having a good time allowing themselves to let loose.

Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.

The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.

It looks like this movie splits people into camps. Some hate it, either annoyed at the clichés of capitalism, or missing the subtext. Others love it, over-enamoured with the neat exposition of current meta-programming principles? OK, that last bit i put words in other people's mouths. that's bad. go read the other reviews, they speak better for themselves than i can.my take was that it was OK. i was quite grateful for the final 10 seconds or so: the director neatly picks out the sequences of images/stimuli in the conditioning/programming of the protagonist, and his subsequent breakdown. So, unlike a kubric movie, the symbolism is made overt. Thanks for that. it was quite helpful. the movie was more a demonstration with practical example of media manipulation of populations, according to the illuminati agenda (as depicted by the projection of the all seeing eye/pyramid on the protagonist's face at the beginning). We get to watch how the guy's outlook on life and events is driven by the media generated program(ming). (Whether there is a deeper spiritual aspect intended there i do not know) . Step by step, stage by satge, we see the programming of the protagonist to become paranoid, stressed, and ultimately, to move to assault with a deadly weapon. Probably the best next step for the viewer is to think over recent headline news. What are they programming YOU to do?personal growth aside, sometimes the sound track was too jarring. i'm not sure how reversed clips of birth fitted in. the guy certainly wasn't being reborn - unless it was reborn as a killer. so why backwards? I really really liked the focus changes, the camera 'blinks'. they fitted nicely and there were times i was unsure if i had blinked or the film had... if the purpose of that was mere effect, then it was great. if it was, like the plot of the movie, to further educate us in the mechanisms of control, then bravo.

To be an exquisite film. Milo v. is a great actor, one of my personalities is the exact one he portrays and I would imagine is inherent to him as well. Seeing how he is so convincing, the truth in acting is that it is not acting. . 10/10 on acting 7/10 audio/setup/ugly women . Follow the great's. I must now pad my review for the further review of above stated ALARM notice. I am now conforming to guideline standards for my review of the movie to be publicly stated. Is this 10 lines of text yet? Gosh I hope my review is not too strongly criticized in the negative. Counts lines again, starting from above eyes skipping down in a methodical pattern. Comes to the conclusion this is indeed running now into my 11th line.

loll, don't listen to all the puritan homos here who hate on this film because of one line...it's a well written well flicked critic on society, people who are too "hearing sensitive", why don't u go prurit yourselves and think about what deaf people are going trough? the only thing which was bothering me is the decadent lifestyle of the human/angel/devil character (the Heroes guy) but in fact it makes for a "nobody's perfect" kind of vibe, which adds to the many meanings this movie carries.this movie is like a test for me, i'm gonna make it watch to people & decide if they're dumb morons whereas they like it or not, heck, i'd even use it to test my future fiancée ... "u don't like it ? OK, g.t.h.o we done" chihuahuahaha...the very subject of "tax attorney" is well-chosen, i mean can u believe we up 2 the point ppl are making money on ppl wanting to b paying less "taxes" ? (it's like the reverse of tax deductible donations...)Also all the ppl who talks about names, Anorofsky this, his mama that, pl fogs stfu once & for all, stop being like idolaters & watch what lies beyond, Ty.Don't forget there is some pussy & sexual tension, so even basic per-vs shod enjoy it.Too bad such godlike work forcibly targets the worst of the IMDb community (to save them) & that their reactions are those of hating bitches, but it's nothing other than mechanical.Experimented seventh art lovers are i think able to see thru, & i wish they enjoy this revealing chef d' oeuvre.Rarely has the descent into madness been so accurately & artsy depicted, this make almost all previous attempts look lavish (the only "better" i can think of come from books, those weird things ppl criticizing this movie know no sh!t about). This is no fight-club like thriller full of twists (altho...) but more of a "reality-movie" like few i'v ever seen, the kind of movie ppl will later relate to as a mean of understanding the flaws of their ancestors, like a few artifacts made it thru the times to show us what previous civilizations were like, this one is a gem that is gonna b found again & again.PS : the hero is vegan ;) ... we are accustomed to haters... simply analyze their critics & u'll see trough : "music was bad (zomg!), B,C,D movie (yay u know Ur alphabet!), this *name* actor sucked, this *name* actress was a slut,(idolaters!) all the pieces from the poster weren't used in the movie (rofl) , prescription drugs are good...(so cliché Han), don't watch it (haha OK boss, why don't u go burn som books while u'r @ it?) etc..."

I think a lot of the reviews I have read are comparing this film to others. In a sense i guess that is what reviewing is, but i think with a film like this the director obviously wasn't trying to make the next blockbuster. I enjoyed the subliminal message. In the club, when john goes to the bathroom he reads some writing on the wall, "911 was an inside job." I didn't get the message the director was trying to convey with this at first. But after finishing the film i came to the conclusion that the message was one of Thinking for yourself. How ever many times this type of movie is made, that message to me is very important. I believe that as a society we have grown far to dependant on the politicians and mass media to tell us everything will be OK. So we stop thinking. I think the message of this film is to open your eyes and see the world from your own perspective...not CNN's perspective.
