Fantastic!
It's hard to see any effort in the film. There's no comedy to speak of, no real drama and, worst of all.
There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.
It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties. It's a feast for the eyes. But what really makes this dramedy work is the acting.
The movie is based on real facts and has that drama about it. While the main actresses do their best to portray what they are going through (and a fine job by both of them), the movie itself, might have taken too much. More than it can handle. Trying to be truthful to an "event" (if you wanna call it that), is hard in itself, and when it is something as serious as this, even harder. It is not a fail mind you. It just feels more at home with a TV movie crowd. And that might be saying more about our dramas on TV then this movie or the way we watch and absorb those movies, but it still has this feeling. A decent movie, with good acting and maybe a director with a good future ...
