Excellent but underrated film
If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.
All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
Blistering performances.
This fast-paced 3 Mesquiteers film is one of my favorite. The plot involves outlaws who retreat to the safety of the Indian territory each time they elude the Mesquiteers --- who serve as Texas Rangers.Bob Steele is outstanding in this film, handling the action, drama and humor equally well. Tom Tyler (The big-screen's Captain Marvel) is solid and Rufe Davis is as funny as Max Terhune was.The story here is pretty intense, with murder, mayhem and legal loopholes galore. Steele , as Tuscon, shows an anger & intensity that helps this film rise above the usual B-western outing. This one is highly recommended. It packs a passel of entertainment into an entertaining hour. Enjoy !!
