A little girl living on an isolated ranch claims to have formed a bond of friendship with a pure white, "wild" stallion. The horse is well known in the area, almost legendary, and supposedly vicious. Is she just making it up, or is she telling the truth? If it's real, isn't it dangerous for her with a "killer" horse? Or is the horse as vicious as he's been portrayed?

There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.

I saw this movie at my grandmothers house when I was very young. I will never forget the title song. "Snowfire was white as the fallen snow, fire was his spirit but man was his foe...." I have been searching for this movie on DVD.... I agree with all the other women who have commented...someone needs to re-release this film. I fell in love with horses because of Snowfire and the love between him and the young girl. My daughter is now a bigger lover than I as she in Veterinary School and wants to be an equine vet. This is a very special movie, and I would like nothing more to get my hands on one. I hope someone out there is listening to all these pleas. A re-make would also be great.

I watched Snowfire as a little girl whenever it was on Family Classics with Frazier Thomas. Growing up in Berkeley, Illinois, I would make believe my bike was Snowfire (the closest I got to a horse as a kid, now I'm hopelessly allergic to them!). I was surprised to discover a website called ioffer.com that offers obscure titles from the past. Naturally, I searched Snowfire and lo and behold, it came up. The movie was recorded from television in 1988 so the film quality isn't the best. The first DVD I received was in poor condition so I complained to the seller and he sent me a new one at no additional cost. My husband and I watched it today and corny as it might be, we both enjoyed it and it brought back a flood of wonderful memories. I can see how it might be inappropriate by today's standards, a branding scene, in particular. But it's still a lot better than a lot of stuff you see today. Give it a try!

this was one of my favorite movies back in the 60's. I remember my sister and I would check the TV guide every time it got delivered to see if Snowfire was on. I have seen it so many times but it's been so long, I don't remember the entire story line other than the young girl, Molly, understood the horse that everyone thought was wild/killer. The first time I saw it, I thought it was a great storyline of the friendship between horse and girl. How I longed to be her. What a beautiful horse he was. I am not sure if the movie has been on however when we watched it, it was back in the 60's. We always wondered whatever happened to the cast/movie.

I've been looking for a release of this for the last few years as well. Even though this was the story of a young girl, and I was a little boy, I still loved it. If anyone knows who we need to contact to encourage such, please post it here so we can all see it. This was a great film. I looked forward to it each year on Family Classics here in Chicago. It was always one of my favorite movies. It's been so long that I don't even remember too much about the plot, other than that I loved watching it. I now have a 10 year old son that I'd like to share this movie with. It's too bad VCR's weren't available when this was being broadcast :-( . Hopefully someone out there can find a copy and make it available to those of us who love it.
