It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional

The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.

Thank God you will not find it here. Christian movies are rarely well-received which makes them quite special. Kevin makes me want to smack him! in most of his movies. That is likely his objective as he is quite dislikeable at the beginning. Watch long enough and you will love him. I am happy he was allowed to include his family in this endeavor.

Reading the negative reviews I almost skipped the movie when it popped up on Amazon Prime. But with Sorbo, who I enjoyed in other movies, I gave it a chance. Glad I did. Good story, good acting, and well produced. Yes, it is a movie about faith and overcoming, but more than that it's worth watching and quite enjoyable.

God kills a Christian man's child to turn him into an atheist, so he can make him drink and drive and have an accident that kills him for 4 minutes, just so he can see a tunnel of light and his dead son, so he can turn back to believing in god. Not to mention the erroneous and fallacious stereotyping of non-believers. Some atheists are bad, just as some Christians are bad, but they had no problem making all atheists look like douchebags. This is the most unchristlike movie I have seen since the God's Not Dead trilogy.
