All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.

Roy is a very disappointing movie. Script and direction show rather major flaws, nothing unexpected from a novel director. He has been unable to see and judge his work objectively. Had he done so, we would have been spared a substantial amount of boredom and embarrassment. Most dialogues are inane, plot boring to a fault, action absent. The whole lot will put you in a catatonic state after less than 15'.And don't give much credit to those reviews that attribute the bad rating to people being simple minded. There is no depth here, nothing hidden, no several layers of interpretation. It is just plain mediocrity.Although Jacqueline Fernandez looks very good, thank God, but Ranbir's talent is wasted, and Arjun Rampal's wooden delivery makes one wonder where he trained as an actor. Maybe he didn't.Jacqueline's beauty, some catchy tunes and the exotic location are perhaps the only salvageable bits of this otherwise conceited and pretentious film that sinks to the bottom of the cinematic hit parade by its own weight. To outsiders, it is difficult to understand how a producer risked his money in this dubious enterprise. Didn't he (or everybody else in the team) see from day one of shooting how hopeless the whole thing was?Save yourself 2hours+ of neuron zapping. Don't watch Roy.

This is an amorous glamorous movie starring Arjun Rampal (Kabir), Ranbir Kapoor (Roy), Mandana Karimi (Pia), Shibani Dandekar (Zoya) and Jacqueline Fernandez in dual role as Ayesha/Tia. Cyrus Broacha, Rajit Kapoor (Detective Wadia), Anupam Kher, Barun Chanda and Shernaz Patel (Meera) play supporting roles. Background score and the songs are catchy. Dialogues are well-written. Cinematography is resplendent. Screenplay could have been better. Acting is commendable. Overall there's a sedative effect. See it to the end to form an opinion about this film. The thing is: Arjun Rampal portrays the writer-director Vikramjit Singh himself. Arjun is Vikam's projection on screen while Roy is Kabir's projection on reel. This is the crux.I don't get it why this film has such low IMDb rating. It should be above 7. As a bollywood flick, this flick is far better than many other flicks. Pair this movie with Inkaar (2013) to gain a better experience.

Why doesn't IMDb has an option of a 0 , if there was this movie deserved it. Seriously the worst movie I've watched , you'll bang your head in theaters walls , its so boring an no story , just trying to make it glamorous but completely failed , the only thing positive was the songs this movie had , the cast , but there were countless negatives , no story , boring , and not understandable , there's a love triangle between the three protagonists and at the end we come to know that there's no ranbir in real life , so basically a complete waste of time and money , i would definitely not recommend this movie to you . i don't know why arjun , jacqueline and ranbir accepted the role for this film , such a flop . don't see it !!!!! its better to sit at home doing nothing rather watch this film , so long yet so boring . they could have made such a fab film but failed .

Review in a nutshell - Fight club had a one night stand with Kartik calling Kartik and ROY is the ugly b@stard child that nobody wants to adopt.Jacqueline is heart broken over the fact that Arjun (playing a famous director) used their one night fling in Malaysia as inspiration for the female lead (Tia) in his movie????? Ranbir is a figment of Arjun's imagination (totally ripped a page off fight club (sans fighting) - Ed Norton and Brad Pitt). This is the best part - the real world scenario played by Arjun and Jacko is so far fetched from REALITY, it's pathetic! If you think i'm being harsh, ask yourself - WHY would anyone male/female be heartbroken after finding out they're the inspiration behind the movie character?(let alone BREAK UP with a famous Director after finding out).. ugh... i'm not buying this cr@p! WHoever enjoyed this movie needs to see their therapist IMMEDIATELY or enter a drug rehab program! ciao!
