Special Dead (2006)

Best movie ever!

When a movie has you begging for it to end not even half way through it's pure crap. We've all seen this movie and this characters millions of times, nothing new in it. Don't waste your time.

By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.

This is a gorgeous movie made by a gorgeous spirit.

Special Camp Dude, populated by a motley group of bad actors pretending to be retarded, disabled, autistic and invalid are over run by zombies.Not really sure they explained that one too well.The characters are so thinly drawn and are such throwback stereotypes that you'll not find them funny in the slightest.The soundtrack is right out of bad 80s movies.Oh, and any surprise that there is not one shred of coherent direction? But then there isn't a storyline either.There's a camp for special ed kids that knows about the zombies and the solution is to wait till dark and use one rifle, one pistol and a sythe to kill them.Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of politically incorrect movies, but this one is just plainly bad.If you like blood squeezed out of a ketchup bottle as your special effects, you might like this flick.

this movie was a lot of fun to watch and was better than expected. The more you drink the better it gets!. the are a lot of funny quotes that make this movie a classic. I compare it to the first Friday the 13th with a lot better dialog. Jay Brubaker definitely has a promising future and makes owning this DVD a must. the girls are definitely hot which make me looking for more nude scenes, like when Mack was boning the zombie chick. or when the two girls are fighting, a top flying off wouldn't have been a bad thing. I was shocked on how hard it was to find this movie, net flix, blockbuster should be carrying this movie for rental, their is a huge market for these kinds of movies that is not being tapped. This is a guilty pleasure that should be more accessible.

I would love to give this movie more stars if I could only see what was going on! Why the release print is so dark is a mystery. I hope it can be fixed because this is a minor gem of satire, the type of film that the Politically Correct of the world loathe before they've even seen it.The actors seem to love their molto-bizarro characters. Mark Bates as a Tourette's zombiehas his share of the funny moments, spewing out filth and bloodeverywhere. And David Reynolds sympathetically plays a bald ox of a zombie who literally loses his head in one of the most bizarre and mirth-inducing sequences in the film.Weird people made this and weird people will like it. Now if the film can only be made more visible, it might attract a wider, weirder audience!

I'm going to tell you about some un-"PC" comedy. I'm going to tell you about an independent film that, at first glance, might seem like a slew of other independent zombie films. But trust me on this… We start off with a pair of hikers who come across a screen-door in the middle of nowhere (well, a few miles from Camp Special Dude anyway). This screen-door apparently is the only barrier to a pool of spring water that apparently creates zombies (it's happened before in this area). One of the hikers has Tourette's Syndrome and, yes, he becomes the world's first zombie with said affliction. Trust me folks it only gets funnier from here.Camp Special Dude is a camp for special people. Yes. One of them wears a helmet. Yes. One of them keeps glue and popsicle sticks in his fanny-pack for "projects". No. Most of the counselors don't want to be there. But, see, bored counselors means sex. Right? Exactly.Luckily this particular camp is run by one "Snuff" Stone (Larrs Jackson) who's been through a zombie outbreak before. Because all Hell's about to break loose. His son nunchuk-wielding son and wheelchair-bound daughter, with the help of a very out of place hoodlum, must fight their way off the mountain and try to save the campers in the process."You ever ridden on a zombie horse before, son? I have. It ain't fun." The gore and zombie effects are decent enough. We're coming to expect them to be. But the situation and dialogue are what set THE SPECIAL DEAD apart. Jared Tweedie threw caution to the wind and brought us some damn funny stuff here. There's a little song one of the counselors sings at the campfire just before the zombies arrive that is truly wrong.It works. THE SPECIAL DEAD is the funniest horror film I've seen since SHAUN OF THE DEAD. Seriously. Just sit back, suspend your "Defense O' Meter" and enjoy the show!
