Karachi Se Lahore is the next Lollywood movie released after the blockbuster "bol". Unfortunantely this movie does not live up to the mark and is just a time pass movie.Plot: Zaheem is a worker at a bank. He has two friends Moti and Sam who are always into partying and want Zaheem to get into this lifestyle but he is always under pressure from his spoiled girlfriend Ayeasha who always nags him for his average lifestyle as she wants a higher reputation man. One day Ayeasha leaves Zaheem for a another man, when Zaheem finds out he is devastated and decides to stop the wedding. Since the air travel is not available, Zaheem persuades his neighbor Maryam and her brother Zeezo to lend him their jeep for to get to Lahore. All five friends go on a road trip from Karachi to Lahore.Music: The music was overall good. The song "tutti fruity" gets stuck in your head, especially the tune. "Aaja re Aaja" is another catchy song. The rest of the songs were good too.Flaws: The story was okay, also there was no real comedy in this movie. Moti's punch lines were the only thing that kept this movie going.Acting: One thing I really liked about this movie was the acting. Every single per son did a really good job. Shehzad Sheikh makes a confident débutant. He has something of his father in him. he was perfect as Zaheem. THere may be some places where he has overacted but he still was good. Ayeasha Omar is flawless. The stages her character had to go through, from tough to sweet to angry to fun. She portrayed all these different phases without a single flaw in her acting. But the star of the movie was Yasir Hussain, he was absolutely outstanding. The movie was completely carried on his shoulders. It was because of this that this movie was watchable. Ahmed Ali was good, even though he overacted at some places he was still good to watch on screen.. Aashir Wajahat was very good he was better than Ahmed Ali and Shehzad Sheikh. His expressions, tone, language also contributed to the film. Eshita Syed is most effective. Javed Sheikh is good in his small role.Overall this is a time pass movie which is only enjoyable at some points because of the outstanding performance of Yasir Hussain

I consider myself to be an all-round modest guy. I certainly don't pretend to be something i'm not. However, seeing this 137 min flick, i am fairly certain i would've done a better job at directing while still making enough time for afternoon chai back at home. The film takes us on a rather loop-holed journey into the life of a young salary-man and his posse of two- dimensional friends who, despite our central character's consistent verbal insults and slurs, manage to brush everything off for a 36 hour road trip to crash his 'evil' ex's wedding. I use apostrophes because the only thing resembling something bad she did was prolong their inevitable breakup. Joining in is a girl-next-door who goes through the biggest and fastest personality u-turn (like..literally 15 hours) in the film..and not even in a good way. From a fiercely independent young women to a urban-hipster wannabee ready to put on her ghaghra and dance the night away. I feel a bit silly writing such a serious review for such a light-hearted attempt , which brings me to the headline: While i did go into the movie with reasonably high expectations, it soon became apparent that they were for naught and by the 15th minute i started to view it as a prolonged infomercial courtesy of Hbl and Cornetto (a courtesy that i was reminded of every 10 minutes or so). And to my surprise, i actually caught myself enjoying a few (emphasis on few) punchlines. Moti, the only character worth mentioning, and a few well-timed songs are two sole things standing in between this film and a 1-star review...at least in my humble opinion. Long story short 'best to lower your expectations going in'. Maybe even think of it as an over-budget amateur film instead of a short-budget mainstream one. Might save you the second-hand embarrassment.

I started watching it in goof faith, that i can be watched at least once. After watching Bol that was co-directed with bollywood, the pakistani movie industry might have learned something. But i proved myself very wrong. Poor dialogue delivery poor acting by the lead actors and actresses. The extras used in the movie are hilariously poor. quality is a myth here and for the ones who like this movie, i must say - bad taste :p.if you are a movie fan and have a good understand about movies. you are not going to like this one. lame jokes, and a lot of promotion of the movie sponsors. loll.

The most common issue that is raised by people about Pakistani film industry is that the script of the movie is usually not engaging plus the dialogues are either inspired from Bollywood movies or reinvented from our dramas. With the release of movies like Namaloom Afraad, Waar, Wrong No. and Bol, Pakistani films have proved that they are worthy of being watched at least once. Karachi Se Lahore is directorial debut of Wajahat Rauf. Karachi Se Lahore has launched some great performers on silver screen like Ayesha Omer, Ahmed Ali, Yasir Hussain etc. Will Karachi Se Lahore be another turning stone for Pakistani Cinema? Let's discover. Karachi Se Lahore is a rom-com road trip of Zaheem (Shehzad Sheikh) who comes to know that his girlfriend Ashi (Eshita Syed) is planning to dump him by getting married to Timmy in Lahore. After learning the reality, Zaheem with his two friends Sam (Ahmed Ali) and Moti (Yasir Hussain) plans to leave for Lahore to crash the wedding of Ashi. They don't have a dependable ride, so they take help from Zaheem's neighbor Maryam (Ayesha Omer) and her younger brother Zeezu who own a jeep. What happens next on the road is all about cherishing friendship, treasuring loved ones and finding love. Karachi Se Lahore rests on the shoulders of script and dialogues – hands down. Hats off to the writer and actor Yasir Hussain for beautifully writing the characters and performing Moti which would easily remind some great performers of the past like Moin akhter and Saleem Nasir. Yasir essays his character with originality and with complete gusto. He is a treat to watch, no second opinion. Ahmed Ali as Sam is adorable and shows qualities of a super star who showcases accurate expressions when needed. His cool attitude, lame jokes and body language is just so very believable. Shehzad Sheikh in his second movie has shown huge improvement. His dialogue delivery, diction, fast paced statements and acting skills have multiplied. He can easily be a good comic hero of Pakistani cinema because of his great comic timings. Ayesha Omer is good. She sizzles in the item song "Tutty Fruity". Eshita Syed hams a lot. Javed Sheikh is wasted, he is one fine actor and should be given more screen presence Rasheed Naz is outstanding, each and every of his scene are definitely going to bring laughter and smiles to viewers' faces. As a kid, Ashir Wajahat is good and very confident. Karachi Se Lahore is studded with cameos of Waqar Zaka, Rubya Chaudhry, Ali Hamza, Shiraz Uppal, Shazia Wajahat, Ali Noor etc. Wajahat Rauf has definitely worked hard on the script and filming. Karachi Se Lahore offers a freshness and good script. It's a total entertainer with some great one liners, jokes, and humor that one does not come across in Pakistani cinema. Tutty Fruity, Rabi Ralli and Aaja Re are picks of the lot whereas Lohriya gives the typical Punjabi track. Watch Karachi Se Lahore if you want to laugh out louder and witness how a simple and easy storyline can be engaging and interesting for viewers. Karachi Se Lahore is no PK, Waar, Bajrangi Bhaijaan but it's also nothing less than Na Maloom Afraad, Pyar Ka Punchnama and other hit laugh riots. I would rate it 3.5 out of 5 for fresh humor, Yasir's and Sam's acting.
