An accident in rehab sets back Fletch's recovery, but it's his attitude that proves the biggest obstacle. Can he beat the doom and gloom before pushing away those who are trying to help him? Isaac wants to impress Ric and Dom wants to impress Isaac, but when Dom sidelines his own success to help make Isaac look good they both wind up in trouble. Mo tries to befriend Inga in light of her new role as best man. Her attempts prove futile when she puts her foot in her mouth repeatedly and winds up covered in wee, having made an enemy out of Inga instead.

Mr T comes to Mo's rescue when she fears for her baby's life. Bernie makes a big decision about her future with Serena when an exciting opportunity arises. A big step in his relationship with Isaac puts Dom's friendship with Zosia at risk.

Dominic is perturbed when Isaac's former surgical mentor is admitted. Despite the existence of a wife, it's clear there's a personal connection between the two men. When Cara makes a move on Raf, complications arise as Arthur receives some shattering news as an old friend of Adele's is admitted to Darwin.

Morven is left reeling by a life changing birthday gift as Mo clashes with Sir Dennis over a patient as Ric suffers an emotional outburst.

Hanssen gets ready to fly back to Sweden to see his family and becomes suspicious that Guy is attempting to wrest control of the hospital something which Guy later publicly announces. Serena looks for reassurance that Hanssen will stay and fight the battle.

Guy's career continues to go from strength to strength but there is a cost. Essie lets her personal life affect her professional one as she attempts to deal with a difficult mother and son relationship.

Arthur ends up being pushed to the limit after he attempts to win Morven's affections. Zosia has the chance of a prestigious research internship in Edinburgh and has to tell Ollie.

It looks like Serena is going to spend another New Year's Eve alone but after some revellers at a gig are attacked, fate brings more than just a few casualties onto the hospital.

Fran returns to the hospital and takes some drastic action to try and get Jac's attention.
