Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.

what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

When my brother first brought home this movie from the library, I had to look at him kind of funny. He said that he wanted to check it out before he passed judgment, so I caved and joined him. From the moment that he turned it on, my eyes never left the screen and neither did his. Even though it was produced by M. Night Shyamalan, you would never have known it.Five strangers are in an elevator of an office building, each one going to points unknown. One by one, each of them dies mysteriously. The poor security guy has to sit in the office and watch as everyone dies off. Then comes the ultimate twist. When another member of the security team looks through the sign-in logs and sees that one of the people from the elevator didn't sign in, it is discovered that the devil is......the old woman. I cannot say that I was surprised and neither was my brother. Usually I am very good at guessing things when it comes to mystery/horror movies, but I will be the first to admit that I did not see that one coming. I will say that it was a perfect twist. I am a big fan of twists in certain movies but not to the point of where my head starts to ache. As the title of my review states, the devil can be anyone. An older man/woman, younger boy/girl, teenage boy/girl, anyone. You may never know. In short, this great film will have you scratching your head and looking over your shoulder because you never know if the devil is in your presence, hence the plot of the movie. Enjoy.

This movie is to redevelop your belief if you're pessimistic about religion and everything else. Everything happens for a reason. A cop that lost his wife and son from an irresponsible driver who hit and ran and never got caught for 5 years, even if he left a regret and sorry note.Somehow, that driver got caught into the same place with other sinners by a devil who wanted to punish him and transformed into old woman, one of the people trapped in the elevator. The old woman died first (or acted to die first), making us not suspect her as the culprit.After everyone almost died, she rose again and you could see her black eyes, trying to scare the driver. Luckily the driver admitted his sin and wasn't afraid to be taken away with the Devil, making her leave him alone.I feel that the moral lesson, there is always second chance and nothing is impossible unless you regret and want to believe. Great story, wish that every horror can be as good as this.

When I first started watching the movie I thought it would be like every B- horror movie with a plot line that we all could guess very easily. But to my amazement it was in a world of its own with a pretty good script, decent actors, and a good budget so that there wasn't any cheesy/cheap special effects There are my twists and turns in the movie and everyone in the elevator has something to hide deep down.The plot line was pretty good with some decent actors.My rating is 8.5/10 If you have a chance I would watch this movie

Going from George Lucas lines to bad acting, this movie's only real plus is the cinematography.Negative #1: When the only survivor's fiancé slips into the building, you're seriously telling me that NOBODY saw her? Someone had to have seen her slip into the hotel after knowing nobody can go in or out, other than policeman. Negative #2: It is obvious that they all have bad backgrounds, because it is a cheesy horror movie. Negative#3: Why does everyone have the sudden vision of everyone dead on the floor? Are they witnessing the future?Negative #4: How does telling the police that he killed people redeem his soul? Negative #5: Obviously the black guy is the thug. Negative #6: How did the skunk get in the basement? These and more. Do not watch this movie.
