Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.

After the bad but decent ong bak this film with supposed excellent Acton scenes disappointed me. tony jaa hurts a lot of crime members when they steal his elephants. This plot is unique and the fights try to be good but they turned out to be not the worst these films are nothing special bur warrior king is the worst tony jaa film the Acton scenes especially the climax was far fetched and the setting is western so thees no Thai culture nor music. The characters are rubbish the comedy in this is stupidly boring a mess. this film is not appalling but bad i cant Even stand ti watch it even the stunts Arno enough Ti save it

WARRIOR KINGBloody hell... this guys really doesn't hold back! This film is about a kid growing up in a family that respects elephants. He has two elephants that he loves, but when his father gets killed and the elephants stolen and deported to Australia. He goes on a mission to find them and bring them back. This is a moving story and very nice. The elephants look so nice and the relationship they have with the boy is amazing. They are very protective. The action is also very brutal. He is an amazing fighter, and when he is fighting it reminds me of a more brutal, serious Jackie Chan. He is jumping, flipping and kicking all over the place. It all looks so real too... there are scenes where I was thinking he actually was hitting the other actors... it looked so painful and realistic. There is also a fantastic fighting scene which was all shot from one camera and didn't cut away... it was a long scene and the fighting was amazing... it was very well put together. There is also another scene that I loved where so many people got their legs and arms broken. It was just snap snap snap... It made me cringe a bit, but it was just a great scene. The acting was alright... Tony Jaa plays the main character. He does a great job. You can see the emotion in his role towards these elephants. There were a couple of funny moments in the film. I quite like the fact that this film had a few different elements in it. Comedy, action, drama and thriller. The film is mostly spoken in Thai, so if you don't like movies with subtitles, then you won't really enjoy this. Subtitles never really bothered me. In fact some of my favourite movies are Japanese horrors.I will give this film 7 out of 10.Very entertaining and a lot of ass kicking! The other actors must have woken up either very sore or in hospital the day after shooting this movie. For more reviews, please like my Facebook page:https://www.facebook.com/pages/Ordinary-Person-Movie- Reviews/456572047728204?ref=hl

Tony Jaa and Prachya Pinkaew know how to butter their bread, and make it extra toasty for anyone interested in martial arts movies let alone die-hards. After the success of Ong-Bak, they went on to make another film that had a slightly sillier story - Tony Jaa's character is a 'protector' of a baby elephant and its parent or uncle or whatever, and after the two elephants are kidnapped he goes on a rampage to find the people who did it. Of course, this means Pinkaew and the writers have to concoct one of those plots in martial arts movies loaded with bad guys and some cops too, and other side characters of some value like a guy who sticks up convenience stores, badly, or that other guy who, frankly, is one of the only real matches to Jaa.These 'plot' scenes aren't too bad, and keep the story rolling and contain some decent performances. But we didn't go into the Protector to see an actual story, did we? It's actually kind of superfluous, and if it weren't for the significance of elephants in Thailand, it could be a MacGuffin. The story is, frankly, second to what the Protector really shines at: showing off Tony Jaa kicking ass and not having the time to take names since he kicks ass every other second. Jaa here more than proves his worth; like Jackie Chan he had the 'no stunt-double' thing going on, as happened in Ong-Bak, but here unlike in Ong-Bak there isn't super fast cutting in the action and fight scenes. Indeed there's a scene that reminds one of Oldboy, where a five minute long take shows Jaa going up a stair-case (all in stedi-cam, not hand-held thank goodness) and mercilessly beating the crap out of any henchman that gets in his way. It's so powerful because we know already Jaa can do it, and because the mis-en-scene is so relentless. In terms of grace and skill, if not service to the story, it even tops Oldboy.Oh, and that's not all. Some scenes seem to go forever with Jaa fighting off the ridiculous onslaught of henchman and thugs, which include a pack of wild skaters. And when it comes to that last showdown- where we see how a tragedy knocks up Jaa's "I'll kill you all!" meter a thousand points- it's breathtaking. It's hard to recommend The Protector for any other reason than for Tony Jaa and his meticulous, daunting, eye-popping array of technique and skills with his body as a martial artists. He's at the top of the crop of people who have ever appeared on celluloid doing this, up there with Bruce Lee and Chan. If the movie itself doesn't quite live up to it (albeit still relatively well-made and with its touches of humor), it's fine. 7.5/10

Tony Jaa's recent endeavour "TOM YUM GOONG" is basically a revenge tale in which a man gets revenge on the people who kill the holy animals of his homeland, namely the elephants. The film main theme varies from, the protagonists' love for animals , brilliantly choreographed fight scenes to modern sexually explicit and violent themes. However the main theme of this movie is the martial arts fight sequences ,which are fantastic and are a "must see" for martial arts cinephiles.Tony Jaa uses his own version of muay thai ,as well as other martial arts such as stick figting and a combination of a swift kicks and gymnastics. There are several fight scenes choreographed by the famous Panna Rittrikrai stunt team. The best fight scene in my opinion is the scene in the temple where Tony faces of against a highly skilled capoiera practitioner. There is another great fight scene in which he fights an evenly matched Johnny Nyugen. The movie is entertaining ,though the acting is dull. However tony does a good job of acting as well.A must see for martial arts fans.
