Celeste & Jesse Forever (2012)

I like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.

Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.

There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes

The tone of this movie is interesting -- the stakes are both dramatic and high, but it's balanced with a lot of fun, tongue and cheek dialogue.

Jesse and Celeste subconsciously fight to stay the same people the whole film as they make efforts to change. It's heartbreaking in the best way possible. I actually wanted a little more even though it was somewhat slow paced.

Divorce is a subject that merits exploration in fiction. Ideally, however, the dramatization shouldn't be as drawn out and painful as the real thing!The chemistry between Samberg and Jones is the best thing about the movie. Unfortunately, the plot necessitates that they aren't on screen together for anywhere near long enough - and whenever they aren't, the film is blah.A capitalised letter 'B' doesn't really look like a butt, no matter how much you want to pretend that it does, for the sake of a crass joke... otherwise, a person's torso would be literally underscored by a line.We're meant to understand that Celeste is at peace with herself come the ending, when she doesn't call out someone who cuts in line... This is meant to signify growth, but actually it doesn't. Just because the guy has a good excuse in the latter instance does not make her reaction wrong, the first time. People who cut in should always be shown up, if one has the assertiveness to do so!

As another reviewer interestingly stated: It's tough to put this in a box or label it for that matter. Of course the first impression is that this is a romantic comedy, which is a fair assessment of the movie. But it would also be unfair to the movie to only boil it down to this. There is more to it and it deals with Human interaction and emotions on a bigger scale than this.The two leads are terrific and unlike other romantic movies, you actually don't know where this will lead you from the get go. They play with such a gusto (great script/story matched with the acting talent to pull it off). It's also nice to see flawed characters, but not comically flawed. We all have our downfalls and we all have things/issues we work on. And the movie does concentrate on the female lead, which is a nice touch too. A really good (romantic) drama with comedy touches

this movie has wonderful actors whom I respect greatly and was very realistic in the ways that it portrays life and the film making was sick. however this is not a romantic comedy and it might destroy your soul depending how fragile your soul is due to whatever is going on in your life. just watch lonely island if you want some happiness. just roll solo dude, be carefolo of this here moving picture. this thing is making me type more lines. blah blah blah. this is the tale of captain jack sparrow. actually today might be a great day. dude i just had sex dude. it felt great. if you'd like i'd spell it out but i don't feel like. oh, i have this like sick grave plot right off the highway. but like i just wanted to give you all some pretty legit advice, just in case you want to be a cool kid. cool guys don't look at explosions.
