Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.

666: THE PROPHECY is ANOTHER end of the world/prophecy type religious horror film brought to us by SAW II director Darren Lynn Bousman. He's an odd choice to helm a film like this, but after watching it I can say it doesn't really matter; this film is a mess anyway, lacking both budget and adequate lighting, and the story that plays out is the most predictable you'll see.The film was financed by American backers but apparently shot in Spain. The dull protagonist finds his life haunted by the number 11.11 and is soon convinced that some world-changing event is coming about that only he can prevent. There's a massive twist here, but it'll surprise nobody watching, and the rest of the film is mired in poor acting and over-dark cinematography. Some brief but rubbery effects don't help much. The best thing I can say about 666: THE PROPHECY is that I liked Wendy Glenn and that there's some adequate foreboding built up along the way, but that resolution really is poor. As a whole the film is similar to the Jim Carrey vehicle THE NUMBER 23, but just as disappointing.

I just really don't get the unjust attack this film is receiving from reviewers on here !!?? My guess would be that people were having very high hopes and were expecting a masterpiece or something !! the movie is really not as bad as the reviews on here will make you believe, it was actually quite enjoyable, entertaining and very well acted.first of all, its not your typical Horror, it is more of a thriller, a story of successful writer whom his kid and wife are killed and is having problems coping with that, he travels to Barcelona to visit his family, only to start experiencing weird occurrences that are related to the number 11.11.11.the main character played be Timothy Gibbs, was quite interesting and his story and pain he is going through were intriguing. he was played very well by Timothy whom i've never seen before, i was surprised by his solid performance as he really carried the film for me. the movie does have a sense of mystery to it, it keeps you guessing with the main character and makes feel you need to get to the end of it to find out what is going to happen and what are the answers to the mysteries surrounding the number 11.11.11 the setting was excellent, the house where the major events take place was creepy and its location on a beach in Barcelona added more intrigue. the whole film was filled with a creepy and dark atmosphere.the biggest problem with the film, and i guess the other reason why many are giving it poor ratings, was the ending, i thought it was rushed and left unexplained, however, while the ending disappoints, the film as a whole left me entertained.So generally speaking, i thought it was a very good thriller, unjustly attacked by others, probably because of the poor ending, but the film as whole has a lot of redeeming qualities, quite entertaining with intriguing well acted characters and a story of mystery.I just don't get the extreme negativity this film is getting, i can understand why some are disappointed, but to give this 1 or 2 stars is extreme, and to call it the worst movie of the year is harsh.if you really want to see some of the worst movies that are actually rated higher than this, then you should watch the Innkeepers, a total waste of time and crappy movie that is actually rated high for some reason !?!?!?

The successful American writer and atheist Joseph Crone (Timothy Gibbs) participates in a support group to accept the death of his beloved wife Sarah (Salomé Jiménez) and their son Diogo. Joe befriends Sadie (Wendy Glenn) in one of the meetings and she helps him when he has a car accident. When Joe's estranged religious brother Samuel Crone (Michael Landes) tells him that their father is terminal, he travels to Barcelona to stay near the death bed of his father. Joe has visions of demons and with the number 11 and he finds that something evil will happen with Samuel and him on 11 November 2011."11-11-11" is a film with a promising premise, but with a messy and disappointing execution. The screenplay is boring and confused; the scary atmosphere with demons repeats several times along the film and becomes irritating; and the predicable plot point is hard to believe, disclosed in very fast pace and annoying. My vote is three.Title (Brazil): "11-11-11"

"The day that Sarah & David died so did my faith that there was some sort of higher power." Joesph Crone is an author trying to deal with the loss of his wife and child. After getting a call from his brother he travels to Spain to see him and his dying father. When the date and time of 11:11 keeps showing up in his life he wonders if it has meaning. I will start by saying that I actually did like this movie. I also have to say that it is still a high class B movie though. The best way to describe this is that it is a little better and scarier version of "Number 23". If you like that movie you will like this one. The movie deals with some very religious issues and makes you wonder who is right and what is real. The movie rode the line of serious and cheesy the whole time. Stepping over to the cheesy side more often but still I liked it. There really isn't much else to say about this one but for any hardcore horror fans this is a good one to watch. For everyone else I will say I liked it, but don't go in expecting a great movie. Overall, a movie that I enjoyed and fans of "Number 23" will love. I give it a B+.
