How sad is this?

It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional

I wanted to like it more than I actually did... But much of the humor totally escaped me and I walked out only mildly impressed.

The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

The MuppetsFrom all the throwback to all the cameos, The Muppets is a single minded movie that is not only for the kids but for all the fans that grew up watching them.

This movie is well made. A whole lot of effort was put into this. The creators cared clear about The Muppets. But can't say I liked it a lot. It doesn't come close to the awfulness of the horrible Kermit's Swamp Years(the textbook definition of a cash grab). It Isn't even bad like Muppets from Space.It's just Meh. My biggest problem is WHY IS JASON SEGEL'S CHARACTER'S BROTHER A PUPPET ?. Did his mom bang a puppet ? Did his mom have a puppet fetish ?. Was she hit by a voodoo curse while she was pregnant ? Was he cursed by a gypsy when he was a child ? explain movie explain !. Too much of the movie focus on Jason Segel guy and his puppet brother. The film is also a bit too melancholy in spots . I didn't think any of the songs were especially good. Not even the Oscars winning one. The worst being the relentlessly chipper and upbeat "Life's a Happy Song".I would say that Chris Cooper is wasted , But i've seen The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and know what it is to really waste Chris Chopper. . He seems to have a lot of fun playing a cartoonish bad guy. In fact everyone seems to have fun from Jason Segel to Amy Adams to all the celebrities they get to cameo( best part of the movie is all the celebrity cameos. although Adams's presence is slightly troubling since it reminds you of Enchanted a much better Disney movie you could watch instead. In conclusion the Muppets is in no way bad. it's quite good. But i didn't particularly enjoy it and there are better family movies out there. But to end this review on a good note i thought the sequel was very funny. So i've just recommend you to see that instead.

We live in a nostalgia obsessed age, so I suppose it was only a matter of time before someone dusted off The Muppets. Thankfully, it was someone who cared more about the integrity of the property than they did about making a few bucks.'The Muppets' is just a delightful film. With a giant heart on its sleeve, it sings and dances its way through a breezy hour and a half of cheerful, can-do storytelling. That's not to say it's dumb. Far from it. It actually has a deceptively sharp wit, but it's never snarky or mean spirited. This is a feel good movie for everyone. I can't recommend it enough.

This movie is hilarious and the Muppets are as fun as ever. Kermit, Fonzie,Gonzo, Miss Piggy & of course the new character Walter. I was in tears of laughter when the Man or Muppet song came on. The other good thing about this Muppet movie is that the show did not revolve around the Muppets but instead focused on Walter and his brother. This is what made the movie so funny.The Muppets is really entertaining for young children and older audiences. The songs are also better than modern pop music. This movie is definitely a must watch. Your never too old to watch classic Muppets movies and this is just like the many other Muppet movies that have been created. Good job to the director and all the cast.On a final note Jack Black was a perfect celebrity to pick for the movie although the cameos were a bit overdone.
