A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.

The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful

I think this movie is pretty representative of Jackie Chan's filmography, in that it contains a light plot which is basically an excuse for non stop knockabout comedy and lots of martial arts sequences. While the threadbare plot rips off Indiana Jones and any other big adventure yarns made ten years previously, there's so much action in so many different places that you probably won't notice. This was my first exposure to Jackie Chan and it left me with mixed feelings. On one hand, the stunt work and action was great as expected, even more so when you realise that Chan did it all himself (especially that leap from the motorbike to the hanging crate - awesome stuff). On the other hand, the film does drag a bit and is laden with too much silly old-fashioned comedy and annoying supporting characters. If you're a fan of such comedy then you'll probably end up enjoying this film more than me, but then I'm into serious movies instead of comedies. The acting in the film is typical for a modern Hong Kong production, so make of that what you will. Jackie Chan is strong in the lead role though and his lovable character is impossible to dislike, and frequently impressively athletic in the action sequences. Highlights in the film include the bizarre opening (which pays homage to RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK by having Chan roll down a mountainside in a huge transparent ball), an excellent motorbike chase through the streets and docks of Hong Kong, various fights and chases in an African hotel, and all-action finale in which Chan takes on the bad guys in an underground base and a huge wind tunnel. Although the action is non-violent and aimed at kids and adults alike, the incredible fast moves are worth watching for any viewer and the fast pacing frequently makes it breathtaking, if not a little overwhelming in places. Just as they slow down for some dialogue, another martial arts sequence starts up. OPERATION CONDOR is a fun film which is very clever in its own way, but can't end up feeling a little hollow to those looking for more than just plain action.

This movie is about impressing stunts. Period. That is all it is, and it does it well. Chan is amazingly skilled in both performing great stunts as well as coming up with ones you haven't seen before.Great stunts also lay a solid foundation for action comedy. Many action scenes are really, really fun, mixing the stunts with fun situations. In particular, I found the car chase scene make me think "just when I thought there were no fun Bond-style chases left to make, Chan proves that there are". The only thing missing would be to play "The Ride of the Valkyries" at some appropriate times. One more point in the favor of the movie is Chan's charm. He really has good screen presence. So far, this is good. But let me mention what the movie does NOT have. It has no interesting plot to speak of. It has rather awful storytelling at times, moving from one scene to another with minimal or no motivation. There are even scenes with obvious remains from cut parts. Finally, the three female leads are all young, pretty and stupid. One "silly girl" would be fine but three of them? This makes them embarrassingly similar. It wouldn't hurt with one woman who were, for example, middle aged and with a professional attitude, or just not exactly the same personality as the others. I guess this is a cultural difference, in movies from the western world we are plagued with over-professional arrogant women instead, which is just as much cliché. Maybe we could get something in between, like an interesting character? So, forget about the plot. Enjoy the stunts instead! They make me wonder one thing: How dangerous was this movie to make? How many times did Chan go to hospital?10/10 for stunts. 8/10 for fun and action. 2/10 for story.

There really isn't much that I can really say about this movie except that it has nothing to do with any Armour of God, but hey, why let the plot get in the way of a perfectly good sequel (quoted from Des Mangan). I really feel that when I come to discuss a Jackie Chan movie, everything I can say about it I have already said and cannot really add anything new. His movies follow a formulae namely because the formulae is successful. It is funny, has daring stunts in it which he does, and lots of action. The daring stunt in this movie was riding a motorbike off a pile of crates, jumping from it and onto a load being lifted by a crane. Jackie Chan play Jackie, an adventurer. At first he is in a secret amazon temple where the tribesmen welcome him to take the gems. The thing they don't want him to touch is the holy water, and by drinking that you must stay and marry the chief's daughter. This is not the plot though, but just the opener. Jackie travels to Europe where he is commissioned by the UN to find a lost cache of Nazi gold hidden in the desert. As such Jackie must negotiate Nazi's, slavers, angry tribesmen, and a hidden and trapped vault. All in the typical days work for your standard Indiana Jones. The weird thing about this movie is that Jackie's henchmen from the previous movie has gone but he now has three female companions. One would say that he is a lucky guy. I am one of them.

Armour of God 2 destroys anything Indiana Jones ever did as it is the most accomplished action adventure film I have ever seen and I am not joking. This has everything from bad villains, female leads, well three actually, great action, great adventure, plenty of explosions and some of the most funniest scenes you will ever see in adventure film like this. Apart from Rush Hour you wouldn't usually associate Jackie Chan with doing much comedy only martial arts but he does it like a pro and it doesn't stop till the very end. I can go on and on for years and years watching this and you never ever get bored as there is so much to take in and not enough time. As soon as it is finished you'll be dying to go back for more and watch it on repeat viewings.Jackie Chan has made some of the best kick ass films in the world. I rate his films much better than Bruce Lee's and if you want to challenge that then all you have to do is watch this, the first Amour of God and Project A and you will see how accomplished his films really are.
