Yes part 2 is better than the first remake film in my opinion!!! I prefer the team on a mission story & getting picked off one by one it's done really well & exciting. The first was Excellent & very well made & done extremely real & gritty but it was also abit too extreme in an uncomfortable couldn't watch it alot kinda way,maybe that's just me? But some stuff was just too cruel & intense & that shows how good the performances are & the directing but part 2 was more action packed fun with the team of not very confident new recruits on a training exercise who come across those mutants from the lonely desert. I just prefer the more action approach to all the depraved Horror & having modern day soldiers fighting these creatures is a cool idea like an old school 80s approach similar to Walter Hills classic SOUTHERN COMFORT (1981), part 2 probably deliberately copied that idea & it's better for it this time around & the Atmosphere is very scary edge of the seat with bursts of brutality that's viscous & gritty & all the performances from the "No Names" cast are very good & better for them at the time being unknowns or at least to me anyway. Yes Hills 2 is more action orientated Slasher fun in that 80s tradition & i like it so much & to me is the best of the entire franchise!!! A good solid survival slasher Thriller!

(Originally seen many years ago) I have never seen the first one, and I never will, because this absolute pile of garbage is among the nastiest pieces of inhumane garbage I have ever seen. This time the army are attacked by vile creatures, the creatures slash them, stab them and you get the rest, but what makes it even more revolting is the fact one of them rape's a woman so she can have baby mutants, I could have vomited, if I weren't familiar with the ugliness in these alleged horror films. I hate these film's with a passion, film's like this and Wolf Creek and the Halloween remakes are designed to entertain people while people are brutalised for the studio's profit. I hate every one of these vicious exercises in sadism, they are repulsive, nasty pieces of filth. 0/10

Two years ago, a family stumbled onto Section 16 and some of them are killed. The military tries install monitoring equipment in the area but they are slaughter. A bumbling group of National Guardsmen are sent to support the camp but they find the place abandoned. They see a mirror signal from the top of the hills and they have trouble using their radio. A group is sent up to investigate but the Guardsmen are soon under attack.If Wes Craven got Emilie de Ravin to return, that would have been at least interesting. The first half is annoyingly stupid. For some reason, the mutants are unable to use guns and yet they keep besting the heavily armed Guardsmen. The Guardsmen keep pointing their guns up in the air when the mutants keep attacking them from right under their feet. They never check properly. Once they fall under ground, the movie does get a little better. It's more believable that mutants could win with hand-to-hand combat in the confined spaces. The claustrophobia adds a little to the horror atmosphere. However it's still never gets that good.

"The Hills Have Eyes II" is the sequel of The Hills Have Eyes and in this movie we have about the same story in which a group of National Guard trainees this time is being stalked by a group of psychotic people who live in the desert and they are also mutants, and for one more time they are far from civilization.I liked this movie not as much as I liked the first one and that's it because this movie it had not many scenes with suspense and the story was not as nice and breathtaking as the first one. I also did not like it as much as the first one because of the cast and their interpretations which were not as good as I expected to be.
