This is a tender, generous movie that likes its characters and presents them as real people, full of flaws and strengths.

The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.

This film is about a legend that has been started by the town folk of Cold Rock. Since the children in the town have been going missing, people have said it's an entity known as 'The Tall Man' who has been taking them. Julia Denning is the local nurse whose husband died years earlier. She is soon personally involved as her child is taken. As much as i love Jessica Biel as an actress this movie did not do it for me to be honest. It was very slow paced and even despite a very good perfomance by her in general the movie was just all over the place in the end.

It's really rare for me to find a movie with a plot that I truly cannot predict, that is so well executed, and that has an ending that is legitimately shocking and controversial. The Tall Man delivered on all points and is now my top most recommended movie for people on Netflix. As others have commented, if you are looking for a typical creature feature or slasher flick, you are likely to be disappointed, but if you keep an open mind and can appreciate more subtle forms of horror, this movie will be well worth your time. ***SPOILERS BEYOND THIS POINT - SUGGEST YOU WATCH IT FIRST!*** Seriously, watch it first.But if you really have to know...What starts as a seeming typical creature feature soon takes a much darker turn - straight into the most disturbing aspects of the human psyche. This film asks questions such as: under what conditions could fundamentally good, even heroic people be motivated to commit the most heinous acts imaginable? Can it ever be right to destroy an innocent adult in order to save an innocent child? And how far can a person go in committing evil in the name of the greater good before they themselves become the monster?For those who think the premise of this movie is far fetched, I grew up in just such a small and struggling town in Washington State and I can assure you that the basic situation that the writers are suggesting is spot on. I watched so many of those I knew as a child succumb to despair, suicide, drugs, addiction, abuse, etc., but not before perpetuating the same suffering to the next generation. The gravitational pull that this cycle has in a small, isolated community is difficult to understand if you have not experienced it yourself. A few manage to get out through a combination of determination, intelligence, and force of will, but let me tell you, for most, rural poverty and hopelessness truly is a culture from which it is extremely difficult to escape, unless someone literally removes you from it early in life. This movie made me wonder, if I could go back and fundamentally alter the course of the lives of some of those people I knew, or if I could change the prospects for those who are just kids now - just how much of my own morality would I be willing to sacrifice to do that? And that, in my opinion, is far more chilling than any horror movie monster.

Recently, best mystery film, i have watched.So fast running.Absolutely you have to watch this film. And the point is not real, 6 point is so low for this film.Absolutely STUNNİNG.Jessica Biel is so amazing at this film.And the other actors is good too.Editing is perfect and scenario is excellent too.In film, in the beginning of this film i thought film is so simple but later i understood that film is not simple so much.You have to think for this film because film is so complicated.you will never get bored at this film.Go to Amazon and buy this film.I have watched this film 100 times.As a result, in my opinion 10 point is enough for this film.

Some fine atmosphere, and some beautifully wintry British Columbian locations, are wasted in "The Tall Man", a thriller by writer-director Pascal Laugier.The plot? In a poverty stricken mining town, children have begun disappearing. These kidnappings are blamed on "the Tall Man", a mysterious figure who may or may not exist. To say anything more about the plot would be to spoil things. Suffice to say that "The Tall Man's" final act consists of a series of massively unexpected twists, all of which have vaguely political overtones. Silly, implausible and not conducive of excitement, the audacity of these twists is nevertheless something to be marvelled at. "The Tall Man" stars a struggling-to-be-taken-seriously Jessica Biel.6/10 – Worth one viewing.
