Good films always raise compelling questions, whether the format is fiction or documentary fact.

A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.

This is the often told story of the country girl in the big city. There are obvious steals like Larry Miller playing Ed Asner saying to Jessica Simpson playing Mary Tyler Moore "I hate perky" They even steal from poor Marilyn Monroe with a scene of Jessica's skirt being blown by the NYC subway. There is the villain played by Penelope Miller with her side kick played by Andy Dick. The best friend played by Rachel Leigh Cook. The leading man played by Luke Wilson looking a little old for the part. Jessica Simpson looks a little old too. I remember when she & her former husband used to entertain the troops as part of the USO. The female soldiers went wild for Jessica & could care less for Nick. She definitely has that certain something that drives the boys wild & the girls too. A cute, very cute movie.

Watching this I mainly noticed the ad placements. DHL, Aquawhite Strips, Rockstar and more. It's one product placement after another. It's quite obvious how this movie got its funding. Jessica Simpson's "acting" is laughable. Any Dick shouldn't ever get work because he plays the same lame character. The "story" is just a backdrop for this very long commercial. I can't believe this movie was even considered for theatrical release. The longer you watch this movie the more you're embarrassed for everyone involved. The only minor saving grace is Larry Miller and Rachael Lee Cook, who gets almost no screen time as Jessica's cousin. I'm embarrassed I watched the whole thing. I would recommend avoiding this one.

Okay, I heard a lot from this movie being bad, being not well written, unsuccessful in limited release, Jessica Simpson in it, blah, blah, blah...I've seen it, was a breeze compared to other movies which tried to be 'good' when I came in, and those ones deceived me all the way. Not this one ! Let's give credit to Jessica Simpson here: she does her best, not the best actress in the world, but at least she is in a situation where she does not want to be the usual 'ditzy blonde', but make her place in a tough world...The supporting cast is OK (reason I watched is that Rachael Leigh Cook had a supporting role, a good performance, but too overshadowed...). Just watch an aging Penny Marshall making a reference to Milwaukee (if you remember her days as Laverne DiFazio in Laverne and Shirley...), it's worth to hear. To watch if you like Jessica Simpson mostly, she is almost in every scene...At least, this movie can't be that bad...

I actually quite liked this movie, fair enough some of the acting was stretched......however i can really say that i enjoyed it, Jessica Simpson was nice to watch and played the character well... it was a typical chick flick...girl's boyfriend is scumbag, girl meets new boy, old boy comes back, dilemma, then its all fixed :P with a bit of fun in the end....i must say the strippers were very much loved, as were the singing priests :Pif nothing else, just give it a watch, its worth it...
