Just perfect...
Don't Believe the Hype
Absolutely brilliant
I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.
I've been searching for this movie on Ebay all night. Every time it comes on TV (which isn't that often) I watch the entire thing. The hockey scenes are kind of odd, especially when Snake is skating and it sounds like a knife being sharpened, but everything else is great.Jack Black gives an awesome performance. He's funny as Auggie, especially when he is telling a little bit about himself in the class. "I like Nintendo and" Seth Green is also awesome as Wiley.....Funny movie and I personally recommend it to everyone out there!GORent or buy the movie!
Quality movie by most standards. The skill level of the in liners may be out dated but the plot is timeless. The plot is as outdated as romeo meets Juliet but the approach is quite original. Boy meets girl, boy conflicts with girls family and the outcome will surprise the lot of you. During the entire ride until the conclusion you will laugh hysterically, (primarily thanks to jack black and Seth green) but you will also see the romance that can happen between two people and what it can prevail over. All in all it is a hysterical movie that you at least have to give a chance to. It is the beginning of the successful careers that both jack black and Seth green are now pursuing. Shane Mcdermott plays the lost, love struck surfer who won't let a foolish over protective shark named Jack get in the way of his true love.
I gotta say I saw this movie first when I was a kid. But I saw it on Video previously viewed for about 4 dollars and picked it up. A little Nostalgic kick. Looking at it now. First off the editing is extremely sweet! But Mitchell Goosen is the man, the guy is just one stellar character. The love life, no violence action is what it's all about and I really had a "Zen" like experience checking this flick out again. As far as Seth Green is concerned, it's funny to see how he was always a goof. And Jack Black still acting like Jack Black. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!?? Of course. One other thing that I found pretty wild was the street hockey scenes. It reminded me of growing up playing in front of the house before dinner time. It was one wild trip. I'm gonna go out blading now.
Some of the best stunt/acting work I have ever seen. That inline skate race through a busy, incredibly fast downhill street course will stick with me forever. A lot of fun to watch. Also very early film for Seth Green and Jack Black.
