While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.

what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.

I won't bother with a plot summary since it has been done before.Bad writing! Bad chemistry! Did not care for any of the characters! So-so beginning, crappy middle, AND crappy ending!WTF was Adrian Brody thinking?! I guess he got a few good articles of clothing (shoes, suits, etc.) judging by the end credits. But, seriously, did he even read the script before he agreed to this drek?! And, are there any idiots out there who did not know that Adrian was playing a dual role as the killer and the FBI agent? Kind of hard to camouflage that nose! He is not credited as the killer but COME ON!I feel I should receive a check just for sticking out to the end of this crapola!I demand reparations!

When her sister goes missing, a woman and a detective team up to find her and realize she's part of the latest round of victims by a deranged serial killer and race to get her back before he eventually kills her. This was just an abysmal effort that really has nothing going for it at all. Normally an area right up his alley, he decides to exclude the killer's previous rampage that's only alluded to in the dialogue rather than showcase it visually, meaning it's all crime-scene photos of what happened with him looking on in disgust at them, and the one flashback to a previous victim that could've lifted it out of it's potential to shine is hazy, stutters and just falls flat on it's face. The motive for the killer is so lame it's hard to believe anyone would launch a massive campaign of violence using that as a reason, he's not threatening in the slightest and really does nothing to generate any fear beyond abducting a person, while the one brief torture scene is so fake it comes off as amateurish and totally unconvincing, yet another area where he normally shines bright in here. The fact that it's a cop thriller rather than a slasher clearly shows he's lost his touch and really ought to retire since this one was flat-out terrible with little redeeming factors.Rated R: Graphic Language, Violence and Brief Nudity.

I couldn't believe the ratings for this movie and after watching it i really think that it deserves a solid 5 or 5.5.Biggest drawback is the yellow bad guy who is presented as a degenerated handicap who just wants to get rid of everything beautiful. The resemblance to Rambo is just obvious and it looks like a comedy from time to time. Minus 4 points for that. Revealing the identity of the bad guy too early just makes the movie take another hit as a viewer might get a little uninterested. "Yeah that's him, and yes they're going to catch him sooner or later. Why keep watching this?" Brody saves the movie from falling too deep and obviously this movie seems very professionally executed with strong visual side. It is just too bad that it falls into below average TV thriller category and there just doesn't seem to be enough plot for a full movie. In the end this movie is more of a horror movie than a giallo thriller. Is it still worthwhile to watch it? Yes if u are not expecting a masterpiece and just some fun. Argento style is still definitely there and it's just hard to find any message that the director wants to say with this.Still i give it a 6 because i was entertained.

Time was when Argento was one of my favorite horror directors ;remember his impressive "profondo Rosso" ,his mind-boggling "Ucello Della Piume Di Cristallo" ,his baroque "opera",his terrific "tenebrae"! But no more ;from "two evil eyes" onward ,Argento's works fail to excite me ;it must be the screenplays;in the sixties and seventies efforts, the stories were complicated ,labyrinthine, with unexpected twists ;there were knowing lightings and a sense of space ("Inferno") few directors have."Giallo" is a non-story,or a psycho killer story the average viewer has seen at least a hundred times or more ;E.Seigner, with her sullen face ,is not able to generate any emotion;and we can only dream of what Argento would have done with highly talented Brody in his heyday!certainly not this cop with a dark past!As for the killer,he is not even scary;Brody himself was much frightening in "oxygen" .
