a film so unique, intoxicating and bizarre that it not only demands another viewing, but is also forgivable as a satirical comedy where the jokes eventually take the back seat.

This story has more twists and turns than a second-rate soap opera.

Not sure how, but this is easily one of the best movies all summer. Multiple levels of funny, never takes itself seriously, super colorful, and creative.

Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.

Such a let down. It seemed that it would be a nice horror flick, but it turned out to be a mediocre experience. It's rushed beyond belief and there are plot holes everywhere. Though the main plot was promising, it's delivery was poor and unexpired. Also, most characters are just generic and bland. Cuba was fine, I mean, how couldn't he... actually, I think he just shines bright in this movie because the rest of the crew is below average. That scene with those two girls somewhere close to the end of the movie was unnecessary. That's what this movie is all about: a bunch of random scenes, some important plot scenes, more random scenes and then the finale trying to make some sense. It blows!

Scientist Lee Wesley (Ron Perlman) was working at an archaeological dig in a Middle East desert. Something happened and contact was lost. CIA agent Elissa Cardell (Valerie Cruz) directs a team of hardened soldiers to extract her father Wesley. Mack (Gooding Jr.) is the team leader. In the bunker, they encounter a priest with boils all over. Nickels (Zack Ward) stays behind while the rest goes down the elevator. There are earthquakes. They run into a zombie scientist who quotes scripture, knows their life history, and spits toxic blood. Doc (Taryn Manning) hallucinates and walks off. Hicks (Jason London) and Yoshi (Stephanie Jacobsen) guard their rear as Mack, Cardell, Click (Brandon Fobbs) and Hammer (Franky G) go track down Doc. They run into another zombie. The safe room opens and Father Fulton (Henry Rollins) comes out.It starts out as a reasonable B-movie action horror. The production is pretty low budget. Director Jason Connery is the son of Sean Connery and probably got quite a few friends to do him a favor. The actors in this are all solid. That's more than what I can say about most B-movies. The action is not particularly well shot although there are lots of shooting. The horror is not particularly scary. The constant flashbacks are not necessary. The hallucinations are not well realized. Generally, it's not well made and it descends into a lot of confused mumble jumble.

Never heard about this movie prior to actually sitting down to watch it, so I had no hopes or expectations to the movie, which I suppose was good in its own way.The story told in "The Devil's Tomb" is, well, kind of boring. It is something that seems very much like something that has been used for another movie, somewhere, somehow, sometime. A group of elite soldiers are sent into some underground complex on a mission without any real details, and something sinister is brooding in the belly of the world. Uuhhh, so very, very spooky. Not! Actually the movie plot was very easy to follow and required very little brain activity at any time. There were no surprise or plot twists to throw you off along the way. Now, I said elite soldiers, well, let's take a moment and rephrase that, make it a bunch of ordinary soldiers, because there were so many questionable things they did that just made you wonder what kind of training they had actually received. But, don't get me wrong. The movie is not all bad, just the story is a bit weak and not really coming off as plausible. The setting of the movie, however, was really cool. There was a sense of brooding doom around every corner, and also a good sense of claustrophobia. And these elements worked very well for the movie. Now, I also think that they had managed to get together some pretty interesting people to play the characters in the movie. I was especially surprised when I saw Bill Moseley's name appear in the intro, and already there I was sort of looking forward to sitting through the movie. And when you finally got to see Moseley, it was all worth it. He looked so cool in this movie and played a very nice role, though it was only a small role. And I also think that Jason London was really cool in this movie, he was really living into the role and making his character stand out on the screen. And of course Henry Rollins in the role of the priest, now that was just priceless. And not forgetting to mention the lovely Stephanie Jacobsen, she was also a nice touch to the movie. Now, you might say I forgot to mention Ron Perlman, but no, I am not a particular fan of his work, and this performance wasn't anything out of his ordinary work. And as for Cuba Gooding Jr., well again, it was just an average performance here.I was thoroughly entertained throughout the movie, despite the lack of meat on the storyline, but there was just something about the movie that wanted you to make it all the way to the end. The ending, though, was sort of anti-climatic in the worst sense possible.Don't expect anything grand from this movie, and you won't be disappointed. Good enough for an evening's worth of entertainment, but not solid enough for a second watching. And as for the title of the movie, "The Devil's Tomb", wow? Without giving away too much of the story, why this title? That didn't really make any sense!

As much as it pains me, I'm going to give this movie an even lower rating than it already has at the moment; a 3/10. It pains me because I'm a Rollins fan, but unfortunately, other than seeing him act, the movie has very little going for it. OK; lets walk through this movie. The cast seemed impressive enough with Cuba and Pearlman, the plot had possibilities, and after seeing the intro, it was clear the movie had a budget as well. But...it all went downhill from there. So we have an underground research base with a few zombie-like creatures in it. They talk trash, then get killed by the cliché-marines. The marines apparently have a total lack of solidarity with one another and some just wander off and end up getting killed by the zombies. We have an extraterrestrial-like entity, a fallen angel, trapped in a giant ice cube. The marines discover it, then walk away. Nothing is really done with it. At the end, the marines find out that the supposed goal of the mission, the rescue of a professor, is actually a trap by the female researcher/daughter who is also present. They were trapped in the base from the moment they entered. Oh OK. This could only have been achieved because their expert hacker was tricked in triggering the explosives inside and locking the door with a code - but the hacker may not be skilled enough to unlock the door, or to even notice something was wrong. The marines may not be skilled enough to de-arm the explosives. Only the female professor knows the code. I understand the idea to destroy the facility, but trapping the marines inside along with the surviving workers (by the 'good guys'!) is unnecessary. So the entire facility was set up with a self-sealing door and explosives with a trigger system by someone, and one of the two real goals of the mission is to blow everything up. By fooling some marines to be the trigger of the system and trapping them there? What? Couldn't the guy that set up the explosives - or anyone else for that matter, like the marines - use a remote control? The other goal is to save the soul of the possessed professor. Wait, how did anyone know he was possessed? The possessed professor talks some trash, then gets killed as well, in a rather unsatisfactory way. Thankfully he lives on for a few seconds so his bad soul can get banished, and his soul is saved. Good, otherwise all the sacrifices would have been in vain. People don't even know souls exist, but his daughter is willing to sacrifice countless lives to save her fathers soul. Because we know that, when there are two souls in a body, and the body blows up, the bad soul still owns the good soul or something. Henry Rollins had enough and walks into some barbed wire and dies. This sounds as unsatisfying as it really was. Finally, Cuba calls it quits and takes an elevator ride to freedom as the only survivor. Wait, did he finally get the code to unlock the doors anyways? I stopped caring...In all, this movie tries to copy the alien/doom/event horizon formula, where marines are trapped in a remote location fighting an alien enemy. However, it failed to excite.
