This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.

It's easily one of the freshest, sharpest and most enjoyable films of this year.

I love this movie but would like to make a few comments. I do not know why they did not use Sweeney and Kelly again. I think it always hurts a sequel when they change actors. Also the picture they used in the skating rink of the pair receiving the gold medal was wrong. The costumes where black and white. The stand-in they had for Ross Thomas had red hair and you could always tell when it was not him skating. Sorry but this is my opinion. Would love to see Thomas and Romano play in another movie but that never happens and don't ask how many times I have watched this movie. I just watched number 3 and was very disappointed in the fact that they implied that Jackie and Alex were not together. It ruined the second one. This movie will always be one of my favorites. Thank you for your attention. Lou

This film completely bastardized the magic! I'm glad Moira and D.B. were not in any way connected with this film. It's just plain awful! I sincerely wished the creators of this movie hadn't had the audacity to name it "The Cutting Edge 2." I think they just added it so people could watch it, even if they did include the Kate and Doug Dorsey characters. I bought the DVD thinking it would be at least as good as the original. Boy, was I wrong. I couldn't part with it fast enough! The acting is bad and the music is just too loud! They just used the music as a tool to lengthen a film with absolutely no story. A complete waste of time and money if you ask me. Blech!

Here's the thing ... when you put a female in a leading role, you have to give the audience something worth seeing. First of all, Romano can't act -- even on the Disney Channel's Even Steven's, she's horrible. At least on Disney Channel, most of the audience is younger, and they don't seem to notice her terrible acting. But, in a movie... especially against someone as cute, sexy, and sassy as Ross Thomas... you have to provide a good leading lady. Whoever did the casting for this movie should be fired. And the story line... not great. I could have lived with it, but it seemed to try too hard to put in similarities from the first movie. Maybe with a better female in the lead, it could've been pulled off... but I doubt it. If there is a Cutting Edge III, keep Thomas, ditch Romano and hire a new writer.

This movie was cute enough for what it was, a sequel to, not a remake of, the original. It was the child of the duo from the first movie, facing similar problems to her mother. The relationship between mother and father, and between parents and child was never fully explored, rather we focused on the girl meets boy part. While it did indeed follow some of the same story lines as the first, it did not inspire us to go and grab our skates and get out on the ice as the first did. More time was spent on interpersonal relationships than on the skating. Characters were introduced with no explanation to their beings, and then not heard from for the rest of the movie. Also, some moments were more adult than they needed to be. However, overall, for a made-for-TV sequel, it was a squishy feel-good happy smiley movie.
